Does anyone know the Cost of service on the Bentley? mine is 3 years old. And when it should get service? Thanks

I think it's just a matter of minutes, but Driver8 will most likely drop by. I know he recently serviced his Bentley LeMans and I think that was close to £400.

I believe the price is very similar to servicing a Rolls Royce.

I would suggest you service your Bentley every 6 months or 10,000Km.

Oils needs to be changed, oil filter needs replacing and fluids needs to be checked.....

That is very bad form old boy.... don't ever leave a Bentley for 3 years.

Im pretty sure his watch doesnt have an oil filter :lol:

Can you list what a "servicing" includes? I assume that's not including any new parts required, nor does it include polishing out swirls, or anything extra?

Finally, does anyone know if Breitling do anything to croco/leather straps during servicing? Oil/Wax maybe?

Breitling don't itemise what's replaced at a service, so I can't tell you how much was the service and how much was for parts (if any). I dare say you could ask for an itemised list, but they don't provide it as a matter of course.

However if you've seen the videos of the process on here (I can't remember the thread to give you a link), you'll see that a service of an automatic watch involves completely dismantling the watch including the entire movement and cleaning the parts in a special bath. The parts are examined and any that are worn are replaced. The movement is then rebuilt, retested and then cased up. Any case or bracelet parts requiring replacement are also replaced at this point. The case/bracelet is then polished up and tested for water resistance.

The polishing IS included in the cost of a full service, but I can't speak for whether the parts are or not. I basically just sent my Le Mans in and at the end I got a bill! That was all I did, so I guess they could've charged me £1000 and I'd have had to pay it! :?

Breitling don't do anything to straps as far as I'm aware...... although I know they do have their own strap care cream, so maybe they apply that to the strap but I am just just guessing on that.

Yes, it must be a bit of a black art, and considering the dealer revenue from servicing they likely don't want us to scrutinize too closely.

The reason I ask is that I've got a Motors with a main seconds hand that doesn't reset perfectly to 12 o'clock; it's off by 1mm at the tip. The watch is about a year and a half old but I have no idea what caused this, and don't believe it's from mis-use (ie activating date wheel setting between 3 & 8, etc).

Anyhow, not trying to hijack the thread, but curious about the servicing. Next time I'm near an AD I'll pop in and ask about it.

I'm sure it is to some extent, but likewise I'm sure they are all totally above board with it, as ultimately the timekeeping will tell you if the job has been done properly. And the work is guaranteed for an additional year anyway.

If you Motors is only a year and a half old (and you bought it from new) it will still be under warranty, so they shouuld be able to solve your hand problem free of charge.

I believe BUSA itemizes what they do. They also provide you with a price after they receive the watch, which you must sign and return before they begin.

BUSA does itemize what they did when I had a watch done by them.. They don't always assign a dollar value to each item, but they do list them like gaskets, hands, crystal, etc.
