What's the story behind "date" under date window? Just historical I guess buy I can't wrap my mind around it.

Random question but I can't tell you the watches I haven't bought because of this....I just don't get it. They didn't write time on the dial or hour and minute on the hands. LOL Joking but...

Sorry if it's a dumb question or you have a bad memory and can't remember what that little window if for!!!!

a rather desperate attempt at „balancing“ the design/positioning of the date window of the cal. 35 Dubois module that was originally designed for a 38mm Montbrillant and ended up in the 43mm Heritage..

Always wondered that myself. Makes sense the movement was for a smaller watch.

Yes, now it's obvious that the date window is out of place on this larger watch!

I always miss the word "wristwatch" under the watch logo, would be helpfull if you forget what you are looking at. And of course "subdial" under all the sub dials.

IMHO, the word 'date' could be there to remind the user that this is not part of a timing/chrono' function, it's a datewheel,
not 9 hours elapsed time. IIRC, the Spatiograph had what looked like a large date aperture for upto 3 hours elapsed time.
Probably wrong here, but worth mentioning I think.

While we're at Spatiographe, I always loved the watch, one of the colleagues from the local forum has it. But it would be much better if the minutes wheel had a jumping action instead of continuous.

I have never seen nor heard of that watch/functionality and I don't like it!

EDIT...Did some "research" (YouTube LOL) and It a 10minute countdown timer? Still don't like it.

There was a time when I was fascinated with jump hour watches (still have one and it always draws attention but I wear it rarely because my eyes can't see that small numbers under the low light conditions ).

Well, having a jump hour (or jump minute) chronograph seemed like a good idea, but it turned out that here it isn't the case. I was hunting this one but craziness has gone away in the meantime

Jump hour watches are very funny to see but i dont know if Breitling has jump hour models :/

I've always loved the look of the Spatiographe, but I've never actually seen one running so I always assumed it was a jumping minute totaliser. So it gradually turns over time? That doesn't sound as usable (or as cool) as I always thought it was. You learn something new every day!
