A few weeks ago, I had the chance to see the Bentley Centenary Premier in the metal, and instantly fell in love with this piece. So, Santa has come early this year, before this limited edition disappears.

Words really cannot describe the beauty of this Premier -- it is simply stunning. And, in that sense, this is not just simply a very nice Breitling -- it is a very nice watch, period, bar none.

As Fred has pointed out, each dial in this limited edition is different, given the nature of the burl elm. The pattern and shading of the wood dial is just extraordinary. On my particular piece, the date window is surrounded by a darker swirl of burl -- so, the effect is that the outline of the date window disappears, and the date seems to magically appear in the center of a knot in the wood. Really cool.

The strap is beautiful, as well, and sets off the dial nicely.

All in all, I can't give Breitling enough kudos for bringing this piece to life...

Holy smokes Jim, that looks awesome! It's look even better in your pictures than in the official release pictures. And I have to say that darker bit round the date window is a stroke of genius. I truly hope it was a conscious decision by the guy lining up the veneer for cutting! :D

That watch is incredible, congrats! Tried that one on a few weeks back and it's an incredible piece in person. Wayyyyy better than the online pics! Enjoy the early Christmas present!

Thanks, Driver! Glad you like the photos, as well. :D

As far as the date goes, whether it was a conscious decision or not, it all seems to have wound up exactly where it should. I have to say, on the wrist, the effect of the date peeking out from the wood is really something!

Thanks, Nate! You're right -- to see it in person is a completely different experience than looking at the website pics.

I've never been a big fan of the Bently series of the past but this is incredible. This is a beautiful exercise in function meets elegance. I could see me wearing that for the rest of my life and not owning another watch. Beautiful watch and beautiful photography.
Frank.
