Someone left me this watch and it was non-functional with a really worn dial. I had it completely restored by Mark Heist in Pennsylvania, and while it looks gorgeous, I hope I didn't completely kill the value of the watch. Any idea what it would be worth now? I'm guessing it's circa 1959?

Don't know what it looked like before, but the dial restore does kill the value I'm afraid to a collector, but there could of course be someone that wants a watch all restored like that too. Unrestored and in decent condition, these are now retailing $10-$13K but can be picked up less at auction etc too. Im not sure what yours would be worth as its not one most collectors would want, but i'd guess you'd find a buyer pretty readily at $4-6K. My opinion.

Thank you for your reply. Does having it refinished by someone as reputable as Mark Heist help in retaining some of it's value despite the refinishing?

There is an extremely similar one posted just today on eBay (admittedly with a wrong hour hand) that may be a good indicator for you depending on where it ends.

I think he's the only "authorised" place to get it done, so anyone else if just going to try and make the dial from scratch and probably not do a great job, etc. So I'll reverse your comment and say that anyone else doing it will hurt the value more.
