Hello everyone.
This is my first post.
I have 8 older but not vintage(pre 1980) nib Breitlings.
These watches have never been sized or worn. Would these
watches carry any additional value because of their age and
or rarity? I did some searching on chrono24 and basic google
searches. there are a few watches out there that come close to
matching the ones I own but they are in used condition. Any
members with more knowledge about Breitling have any thoughts
on the "value" of these watches?
thanks

Welcome aboard.

We'd need to know what actual models we're talking about, preferably with pics, but if they're genuinely unworn then I'm sure they would command some sort of premium over used models.

Post up some pictures, or at least some model names and/or model ref numbers, and we'll have a look. Without any proper information we're kind of stuck to offer any help at all I'm afraid.....

So what you have there is a Shark Chrono from the early 1990’s, and seven Chronomats produced sometime between 1984 and 1996. In terms of value, it depends on how complete everything is (box and papers, etc), spec (in terms of bracelet or strap), and obviously condition. From the pictures they look to be in good condition, but whether they’d pass for NOS is difficult to tell from photos.

I don’t like to give actual valuations myself as it’s highly subjective, but I'd say likely ranges (in GBP) for each would be as follows (condition, spec, and completeness dependent of course) -

1 x quartz Shark Chrono (A53605) £1,000-£1,500
2 x steel Chronomat (A13048) £1,200-£1,700 each
1 x Blue Impulse Chronomat (A13048) £1,600-£2,300
1 x Thunderbirds Chronomat (A13048) £1,600-£2,300
2 x TT Chronomat (D13048) £1,800-£2,500 each
1 x gold Chronomat (K13048) £5,000-£5,500

There will of course be outliers both ways in terms of price, but I'd say these are reasonable ranges. Hope that helps.

Thanks for your thoughts.
None of them have ever been sized or worn.
They have been sitting in the boxes they were purchased
in for at least 25 years.

Even though cosmetically they will look great having never been worn. You have to keep in mind that they will all need servicing due to the drying of the oils. That will impact the price because the new owner will need to have the watch serviced by Breitling. That will definitely cut into the value of it being NOS since Breitling does such a good job of refurbishing a watch to look like new anyway at service.
