well, the times of Basel being the only short period Breitling communicates with it‘s customers through some press releases are very clearly over - so I’d expect more interesting news and announcements throughout the year ;)

Hmm, not sure im keen on that. To be frank I like knowing what is coming out in that year so that I may plan and budget accordingly. Not sure being blindsided by a "must have" mid year is going to bear well for my attempts at budgeting!

you'll see all watch brands turning to this, Altair.

one announcement week per year w/ rough prototypes and deliveries a year or more later does not fit the typical attention span of today's consumer.

a watch announced by Breitling will now typically start to ship in weeks after it was shown ;)

It might be better for the general public, but for us suffering from weak wills it would spell perpetual agony!

I might have to change my yearly strategy to accomidate for the incoming and outgoing at the end of the year, my problem is I enjoy so many brands. The only problem with that is many piece such as Pateks and some Rolex models need to be order on release day to be received in 2-3 years! Wait a month and that turns to 5 or more...

We are very fortunate as Breitling admirers to be able to simply walk in and pick up the most sought after models, and at significant savings over retail.

Although I find the Premier line attractive I have never been a big fan of Arabic numerals, prefer batons instead, I will pass. Plus, on a purely "other side of the pond" selfish note, it's not a Harley!

I really like this color combo and a nice variation with the arabics. I just don't love the logo blocking the movement.

I have to say, I wasn't 100% convinced about Georges' direction when the Navitimer 8 (now Aviator 8 ) first came out, but thanks to pretty much ALL the recent releases, I'm totally bought in to his vision! Great times for a die-hard Breitling fan I think!

That is certainly another very nice version of the Premier, to be sure!

For me, though, I’m not ready to make conclusions about the "vision" quite yet. Still some important questions remaining to be answered. I think it will be an interesting discussion to have once the Basel releases have been revealed.

can we wait until the end of this year with your judgment, please ?

;)

no, sorry fred i made my mind up about this months ago.... very happy with the direction of the brand :) :poke: :P

well, Alex: you work for an AD - and probably see that sales are doing quite nicely ;)
but I also understand that people want to see some more models truly revived that deserve it, so there is more work ahead.

I'm a little late to trying on the Premier but I finally got a chance last week when I was in Chicago and visited an AD there. I only tried on the blue dial on the vintage calf strap and also the Bentley on the bracelet. The lighting didn't help really showcase the dials since it was in a lower level of a larger AD but I have to say, the overall fit and finish of the watch was very impressive. I really liked the 42mm size and even though it did feel a little thick, it wasn't anything that I wasn't used to with either my Airborne or my Superocean. I was wearing my Sub at the time and thought the Premier would feel much larger but that wasn't the case. My only issue with the Premier after walking away was wondering if I had made the right decision in buying the SOHC without trying on the Premier first. I know I made the right decision with the SOHC, but the Premier was very impressive. I'd love to see the Anthracite dial in person in natural light once those become available.

Between the anthracite and the Bentley, I'm almost afraid to see them in the metal.

they are a close match but the BEG has it for me as the bentley plate on the side removes the grooves and the logo on the case back hides bits of the movement

You should definitely see if you can try the panda Premier as well Justin - that's the absolute standout model for me. The blue was my least favourite as I don't think AD lights do the dial any justice as it came across as very washed out when I tried it on, but I've seen pictures of it under natural light and it looks great. The panda though looks great under any light!
