Another new Pre-Baselworld Breitling - The Premier Norton Edition

Holy s**t that's a handsome watch! Absolutely beautiful! I'm just a little less keen on the caseback, but it's infinitely better to have cross-branding logos on the back instead of on the dial IMHO. And that dial is superb! Yet another new release I really REALLY like! I'm going to struggle between this one and the standard panda version now..... (First world problems! )

I have to say, I wasn't 100% convinced about Georges' direction when the Navitimer 8 (now Aviator 8 ) first came out, but thanks to pretty much ALL the recent releases, I'm totally bought in to his vision! Great times for a die-hard Breitling fan I think!

That is certainly another very nice version of the Premier, to be sure!

For me, though, I’m not ready to make conclusions about the "vision" quite yet. Still some important questions remaining to be answered. I think it will be an interesting discussion to have once the Basel releases have been revealed.

Tough crowd, Jim!

Personally I've very much come round to the 'Kern Vision' as time has gone on. The only things I'm not sold on are the whole "squad" thing (but I guess someone in marketing has produced some numbers to show that celebs = sales), and I also think it's a shame that the aviation links of the past have taken a massive backseat. But ultimately it's the watches that count not the "fluff" round the edges, and for me the watches are starting to tell a great story. I'm liking it a lot!

LOL! As I hope you know, Driver, I’m coming from a good "die-hard Breitling fan" kind of place.

I’ll leave this thread to the Norton Premier, but look forward to more of the "vision" discussion as the coming days unfold. :lingsrock:

well, the times of Basel being the only short period Breitling communicates with it‘s customers through some press releases are very clearly over - so I’d expect more interesting news and announcements throughout the year ;)

I really like this dial, although I’m not sure I like the baton at 12:00 or if I had preferred to see 12 on the dial.

Baselworld's days are probably numbered full stop TBH, which in many ways is a real shame, but I totally get how it's somewhat anachronistic in today's social-media-driven world. But aside from that I think it's very refreshing to see brands (and especially Breitling of course) making more announcements throughout the year. No doubt lots more to look forward too!

The same instant reaction for me too! I think it's a great dial.

Great watch! But the standard panda still get the edge in my book.

It is not my cup of tea but it does look great. So far the only pieces that I like on Kern's offerings(including the new pre Basel 2019 pieces) are the Panda and Centenary LE Premiers.

I have to say that the current direction(whether you like it or not) seems pretty clear and even though I am personally not tempted at all to burn my wallet for any of Kern's offerings currently, I do appreciate that the brand is clear of where it wants to go and it will likely give the brand a better image and identity in the coming years.

I think the dial looks good because numbers are playing well in line with that new Premiere indexes.

I don't miss 12, I think it is good to see something different than expected while still aesthetically pleasing.

I'm not into Norton motorcycles but this looks good :lingsrock:
