Congratulations Fred, and all at Breitling too, for a wonderful addition to the catalogue. Here's hoping this is just the start of a line of wonderful re-editions from Breitling's past.

That’s just about as nice of a way to start out Basel as I could imagine for Breitling. My only question is how do you follow this up?

I absolutely love this watch, so much so I’ve started to think about what I can sell to buy this but I don’t think I can part with anything just yet.

Fred - any chance there will be a brushed bracelet option for this?

no braclets for Navitimer in the 1950s (actually well into the 60s)
only “correct” bracelet for the period as OEM would be a thin, supple Milanaise like used in the 1957 SuperOcean

I think I knew that was going to be the answer but wanted to confirm.

Wow -- this is truly an impressive accomplishment. The attention to detail is clearly meticulous, and the result is a rare chance to travel back to 1959 and put a new Navi 806 on the wrist. Truly outstanding!

What ups the ante even more is the totally unexpected twist of a new in-house hand wind chronograph movement. Not only does this add to the authenticity of this re-edition, but it speaks volumes, I think, for the kind of effort and commitment that Breitling is clearly making with regard to bringing its back-catalogue to life. It certainly sets the stage for what could be some amazing further re-issues.

Congrats to Fred and the Breitling team for shepherding this process through to such an impressive result!

Now, that would be a welcome re-issue!

nice to see how enthusiastic the reaction is - watch has only been pre-announced yesterday - the instagram post is the most liked in Breitling history and orders/reservations pouring in at a pace never seen.

a lot of passion went into this project from all involved, so truly gratifying to see.

Easy. With a 765 built around the same movement. Doesn’t matter whether it’s a CP or AVI, and they could even rebuild "Lucy"

Fred, I hope we don't have to wait a decade for another like the 806 1959
