I am rather taken by this model:

https://www.breitling.com/sa-en/watches ... 17131Q1P1/

I have to say though it seems way overpriced, as it costs over double the steel version ?

Any ideas of why the huge premium?

Yes -- it's a rose gold piece, with a bronze color dial.

Does not explain the price difference, other brands and even other rose gold Breitlings do not justify that much of a hike just due to case material.

Precious metals sort of justifies it.

They are rare commodities and far more valuable than steel.

The tooling for milling gold is also not the same as the tooling used on steel.

I would assume when milling the case out of a block of precious metal, a lot of that precious metal is also wasted after milling and all of it can't be refined.

The consumer is going to pay for all of that waste.

I think it's safe to say that a PM case over a SS case generally results in about a $10K price bump. This is common across many brands.

Plus if it also has a rose gold deployment clasp, that won't be cheap.

The solid rose gold Navitimer bracelet retails for more than the solid rose gold Navitimer watch itself.

The solid rose gold Navitimer bracelet is $28,500.00.

The solid rose gold Navitimer 01 [46mm] on leather w/tang buckle retails for $25,000.00.

Crazy.
