some irl shots from interviews at the Beijing Summits that show the New Premier quite well (and some old stuff that was an inspiration for that new line)

I got to try on the panda in NYC last week and the case size is perfect. Wears much better than the Transocean for people with smaller wrists such as myself. Really wanted to see the blue one but they had sold it over the weekend. Apologies for not taking any wrist shots.....

Great pics as always Fred. The picture at this link from Mr. Kern’s instagram page with the panda dial on the bracelet is worth looking at.

It’s nice for sure. But I think strap is the way to go IMO of course

I had to contact my AD and they have a few of the models in. When asked about the Panda he said it’s there waiting for me lol. I really like this watch and if and when I see it in person it will be really hard to leave without it.

Driver like you I totally fell out of love with the brand. Not cause of the designs, for me it had to do more with size of the watches and resale values.

At one point I thought I’d never own another breitling. But this new line is making me strongly reconsider my perception of what they are doing over there

I think I agree with the general gist here. I am a traditional Breitling wearer, and I hated the Navitimer 8 and the other newly spawned models.

But......

The more I look at the new Premier chrono, and the lovely detailing, the classy high end look and feel (not that I've handled one yet) the more I like them.
I don't wear my own breitlings that much these days because my tastes have evolved somewhat. I could be receptive to trying a Premier chrono... But I'd like to see what the used values are like. I've lost too much on new breitlings in the past and I'm getting more than a little jaded with it.

Finally I saw the Premier(Panda version) up close at an AD yesterday. My thoughts:

Pros:

-Nice detailing on the dial
-Nice and classy overall aesthetics

Cons:

-I would say it's only a disadvantage in my books because I like watches that look best on bracelets and those with more versatility. This is more of a dressy piece that looks best with leather strap and doesn't look that great on bracelet. Therefore it's more for those who are looking for formal or dressy watches. I mean it can still match a bracelet and causal wear but it would look too normal to me without leather strap.

-I personally feel that 40mm would be a better size for such a design.

-A little too thick for a dressy watch.

-I am not that knowledgeable about the history. Even though it is inspired from an earlier days model, this design doesn't seem to possess an iconic or original element that I can only see on this piece but not others. I personally prefer iconic watches and not just a classic looking piece where I can easily find the same on others

Nevertheless I feel that this is the best among the new models and I suspect it would eventually become one of the best selling piece. Not sufficient to go on my radar but it is indeed good looking. Hope to see the Bentley version in person soon.

Today I actually got to try on the new Premier for the first time, and I have to say....I really liked how it wore on the wrist. The size is great and the details are very nicely executed too : the engraved lines on the flanks of the case are INFINITELY nicer in the flesh than I thought they'd be when I first saw them in pictures. The almost box crystal is extremely well done too. My change of opinion is now complete after having tried it on - I genuinely like it.

That said, it's not ALL glowing praise. It's a lot taller than I was expecting (although I could definitely live with it), and I'm not a fan AT ALL of the blue/grey colourway - it's very washed out IMO. The blue element is very nice and understated, but when paired with the grey subdials and rehaut, it just looks a little washed out. The panda version I saw the other week (but didn't get to try on) is a MUCH nicer, and stronger, colourway IMO.

Anyway on to a couple of real-life pics -
