I just got my first Breitling last week in Belize. It's a Chrono Cockpit A13357.

Here is a picture of her....

I really didn't know much about these watches but I was in a jewelry store that specialized in high end watches. After looking over at least 12 brands and several models of Breitlings I chose this one knowing nothing about it.

I knew the brand had an excellent reputation but was clueless about differences between models. I simply love it!

welcome and indeed you got a fantastic watch there, I don not think you will ever regret the purchase!
I love the roman numerals on it, a bit like my Cockpit Breitling!
Wear it in great good health and hang around here, there is so much information and a great community!

Congrats on joining the Breitling club, and welcome to the forums.

Chrono Cockpit is an underappreciated piece in my opinion, simply because it's smaller than current fashion. I think it's a great looking watch - especially with the romans.

You do of course realise that you will need another one fairly soon, right??

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Personally I do not like the larger face models as I have small wrists. They simply look too big when I wear them. Although many of them are beautiful pieces.

For some reason this exact piece caught my eye, not just the model. They had two tone gold and blue face models as well, but there was something about this particular one that grabbed me.

There is a story behind the purchase. I was seriously considering buying this watch but with a black leather strap because with the bracelet I felt it cost too much. I thought about it over lunch and then decided against buying it because of the price. I am not wealthy by any means and this seemed like an unnecessary luxury item I could do without.

My wife suggested that perhaps I should look at a more affordable brand but nothing I looked it came close. I wanted this watch and anything else would have seemed completely second rate in my eyes.

To my surprise my wife ended up buying me the watch with the bracelet and surprised me later that evening. I was stunned.

Since I have returned home I have caught myself looking at other models, which could turn into an expensive hobby!

DJ, that's a gorgeous watch! And you seem to have an
exceptionally understanding wife. The real test will come
when you start thinking seriously about your second piece
(and it will happen, believe me). We'll then see how understanding
she truly is :? Anyway, good luck and welcome to our little fraternity
of Breitling loons. :)

Steve

A great choice for a first Ling. The romans make a nice look, but like you've been warned, it won't be long before you're "needing" another.
