Hello, I'm a complete novice to getting timepieces serviced. Specifically with the Breitling 10 movement, http://static.webshopapp.com/shops/2061 ... intage.jpg

Is it recommended to have non-breitilng watchsmith service it for a basic lube job? If the watch hasn't been serviced for 5 years, would you send it to brietling or just reputable watchsmith?

Don’t send it to Breitling, as they will only want you to pay to make it look brand new. Find an independent watchmaker sympathetic to vintage watches.

So that is not a picture of your watch? Have no idea where you are located, but recommended servicing intervals and indicative costs are listed on the Breitling website. I am in Australia, so can only show what the Australian site shows, but you can access the site in your country. Given that the Breitling 10 is ETA based, most watchmakers should be able to do a basic service, but Breitling recently stopped supporting independent watch makers so they will not be able to get parts.
