Hey guys, just thought i'd start a little thread. Wanted to know what people think about getting for 2017 or further.

So here's my plan!

This year i plan to get a Tudor Pelagos (blue dial).

Here are the other watches on my maybe list, but i would probably have to sell my CSO to partly fund one of these:

- Tudor Black Bay Bronze
- Omega Speedmaster Co-Axial 44.25mm

And here are my probable on the 5 year plan:

- Rolex GMT Master II
- IWC 5001/5007

Let me know your plans!

It's probably a year or so away but I really want an Omega Mark 2 speedy with the racing dial. It's not for everyone but I like the retro look to it. I go back and forth on that or the blue Tudor Heritage Chrono but the depth of the Omega dial looks so much better in person than the Tudor.

I may try a Navitimer again, the new Heritage model or possibly a used B01, black dial ( 3rd time a charm right). If not the Navitimer, had my eye on the new Chronospace EVO night mission at the AD last week.

Also interested to see if Omega will have a 60th anniv. Speedmaster and what it will look like.

Sure I will rotate in and out a few inexpensive divers (micro brands) for casual/beach wear since we are spending more time down south in the winter months.

Justin i get that the Mark 2 is not for everyone but i think it's a beautiful watch!

Kodiak i'm also considering a Navi B01 if i make a move to all in-house movement watches but for now i just can't justify owning 2 Navitimers and even less letting go of my Olympus!

For me my next one is a Rolex GMT II BLNR. I'm apparently number one on my AD's waiting list and he thinks Jan or Feb will be likely arrival date.

After that (and this is a controversial one!) I really fancy a PAM393.  Totally NON-traditional Panerai in that it's a 42mm 1950 Luminor......and solid gold! I'm not usually a gold watch fan at all as they are always usually far too shiny and (dare I say) a little bit "old-manny", but the 393 is predominantly brushed and being as it's a Panerai it'd live on straps as opposed to bracelets, plus the red gold Panerai uses is a work of art.

Other than that, I have to say the new DC-3 LE Navi that was announced today may tempt me into acquiring a Navitimer again. I've been on the lookout for one that ticks all the boxes for me since I sold my last Navi World..... and I think this one could well be a contender. We shall have to see on this last one....

Still in 'de-acquisition' mode as Caribbean plans continue. Only piece I'll have then will be whatever G-Shock I decide to go with for the beach.

That's a great choice! I never thought I would actually strap a Panerai to my wrist until I discovered the 42mm Radiomir PAM336. The brushed rose gold case is understated, and complements the brown dial beautifully. Hope we'll see your PAM393 in 2017!

Woah Roff, i was out of here for a while so i missed that part! No more luxury watches for you? How hard was that decision? Do you think you'll feel kind of "incomplete" ? Is it a long-term plan?

Not remotely incomplete, they're just watches and time will be far less relevant when semi-retired and living in a Caribbean beach. Long term, I hope not. Home construction should be finished by end of 2017 and if our Canadian home has sold by then we'll be gone. Maybe even earlier if the house goes.

Wow you are such a mentor for us! I'm happy for you and your family. My wife would dream of living in the Caribbeans!!

I'm still noodling on either a GO, IWC or JLC but still have no idea which one I want to acquire; it's been that way for the last few years  I'm not really in the market so it's more academic at this point. I did get the urge recently for a manual wind and so looked at the usual suspects. Then got on a Meistersinger kick given the unusualness of the pieces. I probably won't be getting anything big in FY'17 but I'm always looking around. No doubt I'll get a couple of beaters just for something new.
