Hey guys,
I was pretty sure on the Superocean. Then the 2008 came out, which I don't quite like as much. This has made me more and more interested in the Avenger Seawolf (with the Professional II bracelet). I've got a few questions...

When did the Avenger Seawolf get the Professional II bracelet? Most seem to have the bracelet with the more basic links.

Is the Avenger Seawolf too thick to be worn on a daily basis, especially in a formal environment? I'm looking for a daily watch...

How does Titanium compare to Steel in terms of durability? Is it possible to get the Avenger in Steel?

Does anyone have side by side photos of the two? I have not seen the Avenger in person yet, however the Superocean fits me great. Does that mean I'll think the Avenger is too big?

Basically... I love the Avenger's super-simple Arabic dial. Should that be enough to sway me from the Superocean?

Thanks!

Pro II came some time in 2006 I think. 2008 the titanium watch was replaced with a stainless steel version. The SS version has a new dial with stenciled numbers (think Avenger Skyland without the sub dials).

Go here for a look:

I personally don't care for the stenciled numbers. On the Breitling website, they actually have exactly what I'm looking for. The website says it's Titanium, on the Professional II strap (Titanium).

This is the one I'm talking about....

Perhaps it's not out yet? Amazon says "Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available." This is the only online source I can find the watch (apparently model #570).

I think you'll find that's the old model - the Breitling website is in need of an update. You should still be able to find that model at an AD somewhere. I know there's one at my AD (in fact they didn't have the SS one yet, last time I was there).

The titanium seawolf is discontinued. As Otto said, you may be able to find one at a dealer still, but they are no longer being made.

Man, the 2008 line is killing me! None of the models I want are available anymore... :(

Where can I find Breitling model numbers? I think knowing the exact model number is the first step in finding this watch...

Can someone please tell me these three models?

1) Avenger Seawolf Titanium w/ black dial and Professional II titanium bracelet
2) 2007 Superocean w/ black dial and Professional II steel bracelet
3) 2008 Superocean w/ black dial and Professional II steel bracelet

Thanks!

I have a Black Dial SuperOcean with the professional 2 bracelet. I guess it is an 07 model based on the date on the band.

Here is the reference number from my book - A1736011/B639

Hi, I'll have a go at answering your questions that the others haven't covered.

As RJRJRJ said, the Pro II has been around for a few years now and is definitely better in terms of performance. Less lateral play, and with the "slash cut" design it's more in keeping with the rest of the Breitling bracelet range.

The Seawolf could certainly be worn everyday, although you may struggle getting it under your shirt cuffs if your cuffs are quite tight! It IS a thick watch. Also, the Seawolf has a real "tool watch" look about it : very manly, but also not remotely dressy at all! I'd say it's not really one for formal occasions.... although with the black dial at least it's understated.

Titanium is not my personal favourite metal as it feels very light, it scratches more easily than steel and it gives quite a dull finish (hence my tool watch comment) and I personally like polished Breitlings. Of course the lightness and finish are positives to some people so it's all a matter of personal taste.

The new model Seawolf is SS, but as you've already said you prefer the arabics, so you're out of luck on that one I'm afraid. (If you could get an SS arabic dial Seawolf I'd be buying one myself!)

The only way to see if a watch is too big is to try it on I'm afraid. Some watches wear larger or smaller on the wrist than their dimensions would suggest. At the end of the day there really is no substitute for trying them on......... which is not that easy in this case as the Ti Seawolf is discontinued as others have said!

If you want to buy a Seawolf on line, then check this place out -

http://www.prestigetime.com/items.php?a ... ies_id=690

They sell genuine watches at great prices. They are one of the "trusted" online dealers.

Hope this helps! :)
