It's fine and it looks cool.

This is a tough question to ask on a forum for many reasons.

#1. The photos are closeups of angles to show the size of the super avenger. This is not how someone views the watch on your wrist in person. I can show you pictures of fat chicks that look skinny with the right angles and hot girls who look ugly. The debate will then be distorted.

#2. You are going to receive responses from people who A. Have never seen the Super Avenger or tried it on B. Men with larger wrists than you who believe any wrist smaller than theirs cannot pull off the watch or C. People who prefer smaller 38-40mm sized watches. Your perception of how the super avenger looks will differ from all of those people.

#3. You must understand the purpose of the Super Avenger to "get it". It's not a watch that Breitling designed for the extra large man in mind. It's a watch that is intended to make a bold statement by sticking out. It's a statement watch and that it truly does well.

I have a 6.5" wrist and I'm 6' 200. I have avoided this watch for years because of comments and posts I read on forums. When I finally tried on the watch I was taken back....taken back because it was no wheres near the size that everyone made it out to be. On my small wrist it looks fine. I have a crosswind special with 6c of diamonds and it's a gorgeous watch but my Super Avenger gets the most compliments. I have NEVER received any negative comments. I have never been told the watch was too large. I'm sure if I was to post pictures at the right angles to demonstrate the size the same people here would tell me it's "too large" or "looks ridiculous" but the truth is it compliments me very well.

Of course, as with any watch, you need to know how to wear it. While I have worn my SA with a suit I feel more comfortable wearing a dress watch with a leather strap for work. The SA gets a lot of attention when I go out to the Casino or Club or on dates. In fact, I think I would prefer to save my SA for events that require a bit of show boating and use it as a conversation piece. Pick and choose when and where and how to wear your watch and you will be fine.

There's a lot more than wrist size that goes in to how a watch looks. You have the proportions of your arm, your build, your personal style, the clothing you wear etc. As a proud Super Avenger owner I will say your watch looks awesome. As for feeling like a clown...you don't look like a clown. It sounds like a confidence issue to me. The Super Avenger requires confidence and swag! If you don't have the confidence you will always feel like a clown....but it has nothing to do with how people will perceive the watch on your wrist.

If your comfortable then that's all that matter. It looks great on your wrist though.

I think as a doctor you demand attention. The watch gives you the authoritative look and demands its presence of boldness. It looks great IMO on your wrist. Wear it in good health and stop thinking so much into it.

Thanks to every single person who replied. It is much much appreciated.

I still have my super duper. I went off on holiday to Cape Town and found a lovely AD who had straps in stock and who let me change and mess about with the straps...a big shout out to Trigg Jewellers!!

I ended up buying the Diver pro rubber and the calf leather white stitch straps.

I will post a pic of the rubber as i have it on now.
What a huge difference from the hirsch. The latter was extra thin which made the watch feel extra think. Breitling oem ones have a thickness that suits the watch, rounds it off and suddenly its feels rounded and not as top heavy as before.

I really like it much more now, and the personal doubts i had have reduced greatly.

Here are some pics.

Notice how the thickness of the strap makes the lugs less pronounced.

That looks far better on the Pro 3 rubber, and as you said it fits the lugs better!

When I tried on the SA it looked huge on the Bracelet, but remember they're not sized at the AD, so when I tried one with a Calf Leather strap I found it wore a lot smaller and better!

I think you made the right move buying a couple of Straps before selling the Watch because as you have found out, a Strap can make a big difference to how a Watch actually wears!

Oh BTW, although Hirsch are quality Straps, there's no way I would wear one on the SA, you need the extra thickness, they may be a good alternative replacement for most other Breitling models... but not this bad boy... now just enjoy your Watch!

I have a 6.75" wrist and loved how the super avenger looks, so now I have 6 of them. Love anything 45mm to 48mm on myself, that's about the max for me

I am 6'6", 350lbs. I am trying to get used to a 42mm SuperO. It feels so small on me. I have a 8.5" wrist. I am starting to like the size. Watches of smaller or larger size can take a little bit for one to get used to.

The strap choice you made definitely helps. Just wear it a bunch and it will begin to feel normal to you.
