Hello all! Just signed up looking for advice! Don't have many friends that are watch guys so I figured I'd ask you guys.

Looking to purchase my 2nd piece. My first is the B01. I really love the B50 night mission. I've seen some crazy reviews and some not so happy stories. Those who know or have one... What do you think? Are these pieces worth the money? Never ever had an issue with the B01 but it doesn't have digital parts or chargers.

Please advise on what you guys think and where you think is best to buy one. Store. Online? Where online?

Please help!!! Thank you!!'

I will leave whether or not this watch is worth the money to those who actually own it. As far as I know the earlier issues that the first watches had have been corrected. Whether you go new or used, I would make sure that it has a warranty from Breitling, I just don't see a gray market dealer being able to address issues, should they arise! I would go with obtaining one through an AD, don't know where you are located but the forum has sponsors both in the US and Europe! If you are in the NYC send me a pm and I can give you the name of a couple of AD's! Good Luck

Like most early adopters I had some issues. These have been addressed under warranty. Watch now performing seamlessly. I would suggest wherever you get it from make sure it's got a Breitling warranty. Valid for 2 years from date of purchase...

I have had a B50 since June and it has been flawless...[of course, knock on wood, throw salt over shoulder, etc.]

Called a AD near me... She's clueless. They don't have it in stock but will be able to bring it in if I purchase it. She's telling me they'll work with the price. Retail for $8k and change. She's out of her mind if she thinks I'm paying $8 for it. I emailed the guy from philly so I'm waiting on that. What do you guys think I should expect to pay for it? I've seen it as high as 8 obviously and as low as 5300 but that's an eBay price. What you think?

I own a B50 (regular, not the night mission) for a bit over a month now, and besides some small issue (described here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=59259#p416904 ) I'm very happy with it. The issue is so small I just leave it like this and get it fixed when it goes for maintenance the first time. I'm still working on a first attempt at a watch review, I hope I'll get that ready soon.
If it's worth your money is something only you can decide, but for me is certainly is.

Which I think is a good thing with the B50, it's the only way to make sure you don't have some old stock with problems. Most AD's are (or claim to be ...) unaware about the problems with the B50.

What do you think about price to pay, compared to MSRP?

I may go in with cash, so 10% off MSRP? More? Less?

Thanks.

I have a night mission I got from a local AD last year and have had zero problems. Thank God! I actually bought it before I saw some of the posts with horrible better yet un excusable problems. Made me sick thinking I made a horrible judgement call but my AD said they would cover any issues and that they were aware of some of the problems but that was mostly on some of the earlier released models but I shouldn't have any problems with mine. Might have been told that so I wouldn't flip out but it made me feel better and I can't say anything negative because I've had zero issues. I really love the watch and all its practical functions. Especially the back light. It has really spoiled me...

Just got the new piece and it's fantastic!! Thank you to everyone who helped and guided me where to order it from.

Questions...
My first Breitling came with a cap and the Book. Now no cap and an order sheet for the $180 book. No, I don't want either one... Just curious as to why they made these type cuts.

When you submit the registration card to BUSA, assuming you bought it in the US, the info will be entered into the system and prior purchases will come up. A "gift" will then be sent out, based on purchase, to the address that you used to register the watch! The order form for "the book" is included in every new watch box.

congratulations! I love my B50, however, I must say that after 2 months of ownership, I dropped it off at my local AD for service last week. After reading reviews of early adopters, I pretty much set the watch and didn't mess with it much except use the light.

Well, I got antsy, and wanted to change the time setting to get it exact. As I was turning the crown anti-clockwise, I noticed the display was not changing with each turn....then, the crown rolled off into my hand......

seems unacceptable to me that a brand with Breitling's reputation and a price to match (!) would let something like this through QA. Several folks on the forum have had this happen. I did purchase mine new from an AD. Actually, I was hoping I would dodge the problems since my color choice/band selection dictated that the AD get the watch from Breitling USA. I hoped that their stock had rotated to the point that I would receive a recently manufactured unit....oh well.

However, the look and operation of the B50 is stellar in my opinion (particularly with the blue strap and watch face), and I will work through the issues to get it right. It's a very unique wrist instrument, and I hope you have nothing but a perfect operation experience!

Jeff
