If you look really closely in the pic I posted (and maybe enlarge it further) you can see a series of numbers below the more prominent model number, is that the serial number? It's a series of 7 numbers.

That's it yes. If it came with papers check the numbers match.

Either way, just because of the price and for peace of mind, I'd ring Breitling to check their stolen/ insurance loss register for confirmation all is good.

Also, you can send it to your local Breitling service centre for full authentication and a COSC certificate for around $100.

I have NEVER seen a Breitling sell so cheap, we are talking roughly $2k under what he could have easily sold it for. Heck, I took a bath on my slightly used Chronomat 44 LE 01 and still sold it for around $5k. Again, either this is the deal of the century or this shop clearly has no idea what's going on. Volume is one thing but to undersell that much?...

Just as a price comparison, yesterday I purchased a brand new Chronomat GMT 47mm case with a blue Pro Diver III band from a local Australian AD for US$6,762.00 (AUD$9,800).
