I just wanted to know from anyone who owns the Transocean Unitime Pilot what they think of the watch. I just bought this watch, on the steel mesh bracelet, as a gift but I've found out this isn't something the person wants. Now I'm unsure whether to keep it or not as it wasn't a watch that I was planning to purchase for myself at any point (I prefer the old Transocean, http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... n_241.html).

I don't know whether this watch will grow on me with time but I'm interested to see your thoughts about the watch as there aren't too many reviews out there. Also, has anyone tried it on a black or brown leather strap as I'm not too keen on the mesh bracelets. I look forward to hearing from you guys here at BreitlingSource.

In contrary to normal breitling design language, this one is a perfect timepiece to supplement your formal dress.

Again, in my opinion, if you have more than one, having one formal watch ain't gonna hurt. But if you are not having multiple watches, then it boils down to your own personal taste. Even if a few hundred members liked the watch, it'll be hard and impractical at some point to live with it without your own liking to it. Yes, it might grow on you but then you should wait it out..

Overall, the watch is in your hands. Give it a try and see how much it serves you along with formals. I feel the mesh bracelet will take it to a whole new level. I feel you shouldn't invest on a new bracelet/strap on this watch that you are not entirely sure of keeping.

All the best and take a calculated decision.

I have the blue-dial Transocean Unitime Pilot, and like it a lot.

That being said, my advice to you is that you should only keep the Unitime Pilot if it is something that really floats your boat to begin with. My own view is that the only watches that should be on your wrist are ones that truly excite you. Strapping on the Unitime Pilot and hoping that it will grow on you doesn't sound ideal -- particularly when, as you mention, there are other, more preferable, options out there for you.

One way or the other, I hope it works out the way you want it to.

This isn't my first Breitling - I'm a big fan of the avenger series.

I've actually just tried it on and I really like. At first I thought there was too much detail on the dial but that's not the case with this watch. The dial is actually massive. I like that since I normally rock a super avenger II. I've been wanting a more formal looking watch but not at this price range. I mean this is Hublot territory (price wise). However, I'd rather wear this to work than a Hublot.
