New to this whole forum business!

I was recently looking at purchasing a new Breitling. I've narrowed it down to the Avenger II GMT models. Can't decide between the Marine Blue dial and the Volcanic Black, with numerals (pictures attached)

I was wondering if anyone had either and could share their review on them. If not their opinions on it as a outsider? Apologies for the poor picture

I don't have a SAII GMT but do have a Seawolf and SAII Mil and my personal preference is always arabic dials as opposed to stick/baton dials. I always feel that baton dials appear a bit too bland for my taste.

Some would say that Baton dials are more 'dressy' a-la Rolex but I've always been a big fan of Breitling BECAUSE of their arabic dials ... from the Aerospace, Superocean and Avenger series, they are all different in my small collection, and different enough to give me a real change for each rotation. I personally can't feel the same way about baton dials, but there will be plenty on here who will completely disagree.

At the end of the day, it's what floats your boat. Both dial colours are great by the way.

One thing that may sway your decision is that with the arabic dial, only the 12, 6 & 9 markers are lumed, whereas with the baton dial, all of the markers are...

There's something very odd about that particular SAII - look at the lume, especially on the hour hand.

Standard advice applies, try them both and see which one 'speaks' to you. Welcome to BreitlingSource, and I have deleted your duplicate thread, please don't double post.

It would have to be Blue for me but I could be biased

I don't own either, but I have tried them both on & my vote goes to the arabic dial. I think the GMT hand stands out more with the arabics rather than getting lost amongst the batons. Either way that is a great watch.

Thanks for the replies, I love the Arabic Dials. However I think I am swaying more towards the Blue Dial. Only because I have other watches with black face. I'm sure either way it won't be a wrong choice. I'll post again when I've got my hands on it, thanks again

I think that's a great choice. The stick markers make for a cleaner looking dial in this case and I'm also a fan of diversifying dial colors in a collection.

Welcome to the forum, I saw your post and I realized that's my wrist in the first pic! I must say I was torn with the same decision. I have no regrets with the blue dial and after a year I still own and wear it in rotation. Turnover rates have been about 5 months for me but I think I finally found a trio I can stick with for a while and the blue gmt II is a keeper for me. IMO the best part about it is how it wears with the thin case. I have it on a blue leather deploy and its the most comfortable watch I've owned (besides aerospace). Either way you can't go wrong. The reason I went away from the arabics is it remined me too much of a SA and I've never been much of a fan.

Haha I was googling reviews a while back and a link popped up to yours from 2013 I wasn't a member at the time so couldn't reply. Best pics I could find of somebody wearing it, it's a real beauty in the different lights. great review as well! I had one question actually about the 'end link' and 'no end link' look on the bracelets. What part does this refer to?

Here is the new non integrated style of end link I was referring to. The gmt II has unique links that form to the case.

Hi I just bought the Avenger II GMT, black dial with Arabic numbers. I am really impressed with the quite 'small' size compared to other Breitling watches. It really fits my wrist.

I bought it new from an authorised retailer, but I have a question...the bezel seems to be almost flimsy. When pushing on it, it fells like there is some spaces between the bezel and the case so you can hear clicking when the bezel touches the case..could you please confirm yours is doing the same, or if there is something wrong with mine???

Cheers.

Is it very easy to turn too ?
With little resistance and barely noticeable clicks ?

An in response to the original poster .
If I was looking at a watch with the "GI-joe/action-man" numbers on the bezel , I'd probably go for a dial with the same style numerals .

Thanks for replying. The clicks are ok I suppose, I mean they are quite pronounced.
