Hi everyone,

Just got this Chronomat 01 from a grey market dealer of repute. My only questions are: the model number is AB0110, yet this model is the brushed bracelet and bezel. Is this correct. Also, the certificate (as shown in the picture) doesn't have the serial number printed on it. Rather, there is a sticker with "Chronomat and the serial number" stuck to the rear of the certificate.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Hi there. Congratulations on your purchase.

Yes, the new certificates are coming without a printed serial number on the inside. The white sticker on the outside with the model name and the serial number has a small chip underneath which you can feel as a small protrusion. This is used for activating the e-warranty card by placing the certificate under the machine and the card itself in the top slot.

Enjoy your purchase..

Hi there..

The protrusion is not prominent to make out clearly. It's tiny and looks like a small imperfection point on the sticker where the small micro chip is pushing the sticker surface slightly up.

Check it out once.

So you think this is a flying fish? The model number on the case says AB0110? Isn't this the model number for the standard Chronomat b01?

The Flying Fish is a Chronomat.
It is a special series Chronomat dedicated to Breitling's ambassador Herbert Nitsch.
It shares the same model number as the standard Chronomat.

It's easy to identify the Flying Fish(1st version). The watch is brushed, with only polished on the rider tabs and the sides, unlike the regular series where they are full polished. However the LE is also brushed. So the next feature is the color combo. Black dial with black sub dials(same as some LEs), but only the chrono sec hand is full red, unlike the LEs that have the sub dial hands red as well.

As mentioned by Wessa the FF is a special series(not LE) from the Chronomat range. I believe Breitling has stopped production on it since it has been removed from their website and replaced by the Raven and Airborne.

Thanks for the responses guys. I was torn between this one and the fully polished, but ultimately I found this bracelet to be more subtle, yet still has wrist presence. This is my second breitling after having the chronomat evolution and I'm loving it so far!

Looks great on the black strap, I think I will buy one of these next. Just can't decide if I want leather or crocodile...
