Years ago, I sought out a yellow Emergency (we've all seen pictures), acquired it, threw it on a ti bracelet, and was happy. Now, maybe three years later, I find that I never wear it, and when I do, I usually find myself in low light situations (camping, outdoors at dusk/night, etc.) and since the yellow Emergency has no lume, it's be almost problematic. But, I like "having" the Emergency, if that makes sense.

So, I'm looking at an Airwolf Raven for the backlight. And the very tool factor appeals to me as well. But, I'm afraid I'll miss my good ole Emergency.

That being said, has anyone else made a similar switch? Can anyone else say that their LOVE of the Airwolf Raven would overshadow missing my Emergency? Has anyone regretted letting go of their Emergency? Need some input to push me in one direction here.

Thanks.

Hi, I can't comment on the Airwolf specifically but...

I had a yellow Emergency and the lume was great, but I did miss a backlight to the digital displays so amongst other factors I sold it to fund the new Cockpit B50... many of you will know how that went.

So, I tried the Aerospace Evo on again the other day and am pretty much sold on that being my next super quartz. It's ttanium, super quartz, all the functions I need for flying (PPL), 100m water resistant, backlight, looks great, and most importantly 'tried and testeas.

huh... It must be a year to year thing. I've had my Emergency in for service twice, and on both occasions requested that they re-lume, and both times, they have told me that the yellow dial did not have lume applied, and they would not do it.

The lume on my yellow was pretty much as good as the Navi World I bought from the boutique 3 months ago...

The yellow Emergency '100%' had lume. I don't buy higher end watches without lume.

I have a few Emergencies, have had two Airwolves and many many Aerospaces. The EVO is by far, IMHO the best of the Aerospace line. It is just the right size and does everything that every previous versions did. I agree with the OP that the poor lume on the E's is a drawback if you need to see it at night [one yellow face E that I had had no lume at all] and the Airwolf or EVO solve that issue. Of course, so does a B-1 which is on my wrist right now. It has been one of the very few B's that I can't seem to part with and it travel watch number one...

Airwolf is a really fun watch. I wear both of mine a whole lot, raven model and original. Like most people I prefer the more sober design elements of the B-1, but more than that, I prefer the overall shapes of the Airwolf case, and wear those more often. Aero Evo is a more reserved package with a lot of the same proportions.

That was the situation with mine. In two services to BUSA, I request that they lume it, and they refused saying that didn't originally have lume, so they can't add it. :(

You obviously want the Airwolf, and you don't want to miss your emergency. Buy the Airwolf, keep the emergency. Anything else you will probably regret.

I think the Emergency is a watch that you'll love should you need it, but for everyday wear it is hard to beat the Airwolf. Like SCD, I would rather the face be flat, like the B1, but the overall design of the Airwolf is the best. Again, just my opinion.

Very nice.

I would also have advocated for you keeping the Emergency AND gettng the Airwolf if you could.

I love the Emergency, but haven't owned one. My Airwolf has been pretty much the perfect watch for me, and yes, there's been several times that I've used the backlight. In fact, the one thing I wish I had was a backlight on the co-pilot module as well, to be able to read it in the dark

Congrats on the Airwolf, I think you'll be happy.
