I've never minded the Tabarly actually. It's a bit "Rolex-like", but then I think that there's no such thing as an ugly genuine watch if it has the Breitling wings on it!

Well ugly Breitling is an oxymoron

For my personal taste, I never liked the original World - the one with 4 different dials and (I think) 4 batteries.

Granted the old World is a little weird, but it still has a "quirky charm" to it I think. (Wouldn't really want to own one though!)

And this is always the problem with this kind of discussion - it's personal taste.

To be honest, with the exception of asking and answering technical questions, most forum posts tend to be opinion based.

In the immortal words of Brian Clough, "We heard everyone's opinion for about 20 minutes and then we decide I was right".

True enough!

Brian made a lot of sense for an alcoholic didn't he!

I am completely turned off by the digital display models and find them ugly. I know there are a lot of folks here that like them but to me it is strange that a "high end" watchmaker is producing digital watches (and pricing them at what they do). Only exception I might give is to the Emergency because of its secondary function with the transmitter.

I would go as far to say that, personally, think the digital display models should be either renamed to non-Breitling branding or discontinued all together. Never seen a digital Rolex, myself.

That ought to piss off a few people! :)

Not sure I agree with that.

The grille is removable, and that makes it a very different watch.

i actually find the superocean heritage watches kind of ugly and rolex like. but then again i find most rolexes plain and boring looking (with the exception of the milgauss). even the daytona is nothing special to me.. it's too small!
