yes, there are tons of fakes out there at any given moment, or worse FrankenLings than these two, but Bill used to be the most (only?) trusted source on ebay and not mentioning the incorrect components and calling those "all original" is quite ....... wrong.

Fred - once the slide rules picked up the red marks after/at 1967, are there any variants? If I think that the slide rule is the same from the creation if the watch until 1967, and then the red markings appear and it is then the same until 1979-ish, is that wrong?

I ask because I know you can buy NOS red marked sliderules that were described to me as "for 1970 onwards"' so is there a difference between 1967 and 1970? If not why someone would refurbish them when NOS is available?

yes, there are variations, would not otherwise claim that's incorrect ?

but this isn't an original "red marks" replacement, it's a refinished sliderule too.
why not buy an original replacement ? because it's cheaper ?

the "boxed" 10 dials had - surprise - "boxed 10" sliderules, red on SS, orange on 18k & GP btw; very, very hard to find - but should be mentioned, of course.

Thanks Fred. I just didn't know why it was incorrect, so thanks for the explanation.

The hands on the 790 gave me a moment of pause, as did the bezel on the Navi that looked like it was used to polish concrete. Those two items were just jump in your face, glaring items of concern for me.
All combined, and still the prices bids to rise, I have to wonder about who is bidding or who is bumping up the bids? Or a combo? Mystifying.
