Well i'm new just been in the and introduced me self.
So here goes with my dilema...
I have finally got my choice of Breitling down to 2 models they are a Chronomat Black face with Steel strap, Number 2 is the Avenger Skyland Black or slate grey with steel strap.
I like individual bits on both its a shame you can't taylor design your own.
I like pretty much everything on the AS there are a few little bits that niggle me like the fact that the Ling wings are only painted on and not a little badge (if thats the correct way of describing it i'm new :) )
You dont get the symbol on the end of the second hand.
I prefere the Crown wheel design on the AS over that on the Chronomat.
I prefere the strap (Pro) on the AS. The Pilot looks a bit to dressy for my taste.
I prefere the size of the AS but my wist is only 7.25" so not sure if it will look silly??
Any views greatly appreciated, I know its my final choice but fire away.
Oh and what are my chances of getting the AD to knock the RRP down?
I live in the land of being TAXED (U.K)

Cheers
Darren

Have you been to an AD to try them both on? The will 'wear' very differently. One will certainly speak to you a bit louder when you are there. Then the choice is easy, that will be the first one you buy. Then you go back and get the other ;)

See, that's how it works around here :P

The chronomat will be more elegant. The AS will feel sturdier. it's hard to explain.

When you tried on the Chronomat and the SA did the Chronomat feel 'right'?

Firstly welcome aboard. :welcome:

Unfortunately Breitling don't have an option for customisation of their watches, so what you see is what you get. However there is a simple answer to liking bits from both models - buy both! In all seriousness, if you get the bug enough (like most of us on here), then you probably will end up with both at some point.

In terms of size, I'd say that 7.25" wrists are more than adequate to carry off an AS, but as with any watch it's very much a personal thing. There is no substitute for trying it on and wearing it for a few minutes in the shop. You'll soon know if it's the one for you.

Oh and the chances of getting a UK AD to knock much (if anything at all) off the price are next to non-existent. You'll have more hope of finding some unicorn sh*t!

I tryed on the SA first so the Chronomat felt kinda small....
Will have to try on a AS me thinks maybe tomorrow night :)

The SA does that to you. Don't try another one on because it will make anything else puny in comparison ;)

Good luck with your hunt. Check with Driver, he should have a good idea on where you should go to buy one.

Funny, I gave the exact answer as Mario in another thread just recently, without seeing this first... :)

Your wrist size is enough, it's more a question of what you'll feel is right. My suggestion is to go back and try again - make sure they get wrist time (not just on-off) and then I think you'll have the answer. Good luck!

This is kind of funny for me, since I had basically the EXACT same concerns as you when deciding between the two. let me first say, that I ended up with the skyland.

1. I agree. I was concerned about it as well, specially because my steelfish had the badge and I thought it was so cool. After owning the skyland for a few months now, I can honestly say that it doesnt bother me-at all. WHen you take a look at the skyland, make sure to get a good look at the dial. its very detailed...very impressive in its own way, much like any other breitling.

2. I wanted the logo on the second hand too. Looking back though, its a dressier feature, and would look pretty silly on the skyland, especially with the white hands.

3. Definitely like the crown on the skyland better. Id even go so far as to say that I dislike the crown on the chronomat.

4. Exact same sentiments here. I thought the chronomat bracelet was too dressy.

5. my wrist is about 6.625", and I dont think it looks silly at all. (see attached pic)

That said, I really like the chronomat, and would love to have one. You cant go wrong with either. In retrospect, I now realize that each model is designed in a specific manner so that everything matches the style and functionality of each piece. I think if we were able to mix and match features, most of us would end up with some pretty silly looking watches.

RJRJRJ, I think we are the same person
Looking at your picture you have of your watch on your wrist i'mm swaying more towards the AS but I will have to go and try it on as I have not tryed that paticular model as yet, tryed the SA and the Chronomat SA felt big and the CM felt dressy.
So off i go tonight to the AD 8) 8) 8)
Thanks for all your comments people..

Darren

Cant help with the watch choice, but I got 15% of my Chrono SuperOcean from an AD who does the airshows in the UK.

Good luck

You're a lucky man with that one. I reckon I must use the wrong AD! Either that or they (totally inaccurately!) assume I have loads of money! :?
