Maybe you Breitling experts can help me out. I sent my Superocean 42 Next Day Air to BUSA and they received it Wednesday. I tracked the status on their website and my timepiece is in their system with serial number, model, strap, etc. I do not have a warranty on it but needs serviced. The most recent status update says "preparing a quote". How long does it normally take to get the quote back? I know the warranty timepieces have priority over mine and will take longer but being this is the first time I have had to send it in, am I not sure what to expect. Any help would be great! :lingsrock:

I don't have experience with BUSA yet. But it took me two weeks to get a quote back from Omega USA. I handed the timepiece over to the Omega boutique in New Jersey. I was expecting this though. And I was informed that it might take upto 2 months to get the watch back which was again expected.

That's for the service, not the quote.

They quoted me $710 total. That includes complete overhaul, new hands, replace crystal w/ anti glare coating and polish of the crown. They told me 6-8 weeks but came back with approx. completion date of June 23rd which would be 5 weeks. They told me the watch will come back looking like factory new. Anyone sent in for service and it comes back looking new?

I just had dealings with them in May. The quality of the work preformed was above par. I really appreciated the open communication both via phone and email.

Wessa & windtalker,

Thanks for your comments. They have been great to deal with so far and am looking forward to getting it back. I hate not having it but I know it will be well worth the 6 weeks.

Mate, if you feel like this now, you will piss yourself once you get it back :-)
Especially if it looked a bit rough before you sent it in ;-)
That is on the outside.
I have sent them in before having tested them on my timegrapher, crap amplitude with 30+ sec per day
They all came back (six of them so far) with a perfect amplitude reading and regulated well within COSC specs, even though some may not have been COSC certified in the first place!
I hope you will get the same surprise.

It didn't look too rough. I bought a new two-tone breitling leather strap that looks nice. I had the crystal replaced because the AR coating has scratched off in a few places. The timing on this watch was WAY off. It was running about 1.5 seconds slow per minute. I believe it will be a nice surprise to get it back like new.

Another question I have as well is when they do the complete overhaul, will they clean the dial also? They noted in the watch condition that the dial was dirty? :?
