Hi
I have been looking around for a Breitling and a couple of online shops offer UK watches with UK warranties which seems a ligit way of buying through a broker at a better price than an AD. I do not have a local AD near to me, so buying locally isn't an option.

However I've been told that warranties are now electronic and paper warranties are next to worthless.

If its sourced from the UK I guess I should expect the 'proper' warranty shouldn't i?

Is there an issue with warranties?

thanks
bones

Breitling introduced electronic warranties last year but there are still plenty of pieces at ADs with paper based warranties and that's not an issue.

However, if you aren't buying from an AD then you need to check that the warranty offered is the Breitling factory warranty. Most grey market dealers offer their own warranty which is virtually worthless because they don't have access to Breitling parts, tools or training. The only grey market warranty that has any value is an exchange warranty and even then you need to be very careful because those watches are going to be repaired by them and then resold.

The other option is to go with a used watch that still has some time left on the original Breitling warranty - as long as the dated warranty card is included with the watch you will be fine. Some ADs in the past tried to 'help' buyers by leaving the warranty undated and you need to be wary of those as Breitling would be within their rights to deny warranty coverage.
