I've had my Navitimer with the B23 movement now for almost 4 yrs. When I change the time I feel that I need to use more effort to to move the crown than I did before. Do you think it may need service? Thanks for the input.

Servicing depends on a lot of things, but most here would probably say a 5 year duration is a good time to have a watch serviced. It depends on use and environment, but if you feel the crown is starting to bind a little then this could be a tell tale sign of some service work being required. If you only wear it occasionally or for special occasions and its in a clean environment then it might be something other than a general service required. If you wear it playing sport or its an every day wearer, then a service is almost a lay down mazaire!

It could be as simple a matter as accumulated dirt around the crown and stem, but to be on the safe side assume its something more critical. If it gets to a point where its really hard to turn, then don't force it. Take it off to your AD for assessment.

If you have had the watch for 4 years then it may well be in the service window depending on how long before purchase it was made. However, the breakdown of oils that are the usual driver of a service wouldn't result in making the crown harder to turn - there is oil in both the castle gear and the running train but the impact wouldn't be noticeable through the crown so something else is going on that definitely needs to be checked out.
