Well the time has come to go big or go home and I've decided to pull the trigger on an 18k Breitling. I'm really torn between a few options and was hoping maybe some fellow members can chime in and provide some good for thought to help me finally decide!

Here's the criteria...
- 18k rose/red on leather strap
- black dial
- under $20k
- must be brand new

These are the options I have been seriously considering and are the current finalists. I'm open to other suggestions, but I'm really big on these. I'm honestly 100% head over heals in love with the Transocean Day-Date, but have reserves due to non in-house movement and that it just dosnt "feel Breitling". With this caliber of purchase I need to be certain before I pull the trigger.

1) 18k Transocean Day-Date

2) 18k Transocean Chrono

3) 18k Transocean Chrono GMT (higher than my comfort zone but soooo sexy)

4) 18k Navitimer 01

If you have any wrist shots of the Transocean Chrono or GMT in 18k I would love to see them. Let the suggestions begin....

I would definitely go with the Transocean GMT Chrono. Best looking out of all the choices IMO.

I like either the transocean chrono or GMT. Those look amazing in rose gold. Can't wait to see pics of what you end up with!

Thanks guys. Here's my worry....I am not a huge chrono guy and always seem to get rid of them in a short period of time. I really want this to be something I keep (especially at this price point). But I know that Breitling is known for making some of the finest chronographs in the world, so that carries a lot of weight. I am going to be ordering it this week so please keep the comments coming. If anyone has a live wrist shot of #2 or #3 that would be great to help me out!

Personally, I think that Day Date is positively stunning.

Think the Navi is spot on and a watch with plenty of history, would be my choice but I can't wait to see what you decide on!! :lingsrock:

Well, if you do buy the chrono & don't like it, I'll be happy to help you out when you feel like passing it on......... :poke:

Each to their own & I don't think you could really go wrong with any of those. For such a refined piece as an 18K rose gold item, I would say stay with the 'classy' & 'refined' look and feel.
That limits it to the day / date, or the Navi for me.

I am a chrono guy all day and night. There is something to be said about the clean classic look of the day date, however not a setup that I would enjoy as much as the GMT. The GMT is just killer in that combo. Good luck with your decision. I can't wait for the pics!!

Agreed, and non chrono for a dress watch (which is inevitably what an 18k piece ends up being) makes sense. However, I'm not sure that I could drop that much on an ETA movement.

If you say you don't like chronos, then I think you only have one option. I love chronos which is why I would go with #2 or #3. I agree with Roff though, a very expensive gold ETA based watch would be the deal breaker for me on the day date. However, it still is a very beautiful watch!!
