I have this on my watchlist , even had a snipe set for this but its way above my set price
are vintage prices on the rise or is this an anomaly ?

highest bid so far 3100 GBP / 3650 euro / US $4940

Don't get me wrong, its a very nice watch, but I personally do not believe the condition warrants that price ?

agree, we have seen some interesting prices lately, also on 806s; a bit of wristshot PR maybe ?

thats why I was bidding on it, for the bezel. I would have torn the bezel off and resold it

must admit I've lead quite a lot of people through purchases of Navitimers and Chronomats recently - among them some rather interesting and nice guys from the Haute Horlogierie companies and bloggers, will benefit us all in the long run, I believe ....

the AVI ended at about $5.5k, btw; not bad.

I was watching that also. My how the times have changed. I bought my first AVI 10 years ago from a guy in the UK that found it stuck in the bottom flap of a box of junk he bought at a boot sale. I got it from him for £250. It ran perfect and needed nothing but a crystal and I sold for $1800 to a collector in Switzerland (if I remember correctly). It was one of the first vintage pieces I had acquired. It's amazing how they've appreciated.

Wow... makes me think how fortunate I was to pick up my 765 yachting for a fair price. They are going nowhere but up.
