that hooked my interest in Breitling. I also had an Aunt that had one too and told me about the Airplane industry / Breitling connection. I was a Rolex man for the last ten years. I just sold my Rolexes and picked up a pre-loved B-1 model last month and love it. I now have my eye on several other models including the Airwolf, Bently GT, and Navitimer World. I think I have gone from a Rolex guy to a Breitling guy!

Before a couple of years ago I didnt know about Breitling. I always thought that a Rolex would be the ultimate watch purchase (great marketing)... until I passed the Breitling display at the AD. From the point I spotted the Evolution I knew that I needed one. I got a Chronolog from the AD and studied it everyday, while saving for my major purchase. I thought about different models and when the time came I actually tried on every model but still walked away with a Evo...... and a Steelfish!

While flying in the military in the sixties I noticed a Navi Cosmonaute on a fellow pilot. Knew I'd have one some day. Actually have two Navi's and two Cossie's now. :D
Cheers,
Ron

I'm a new fan of Breitling. I was at an AD in California looking at Omega and TAG about 6 months ago. I didn't know much about Breitling at the time but the clerk was adamant about how much better Breitling was compare to the other two. I gave it a chance and tried on a couple of Lings. I love big, sturdy watches so I fell in love with Breitling instantly. I almost purchased a Steelfish at the time but this AD was stingy with their discount, only 10% off retail. I joined this forum a month ago and was able to get in the group buy ( Thanks Mario). I just recently purchased a Chronomat Evo black on black with Roman numerals ( pics coming soon ).

For me it was the Navitimer ads in the air show programmes in the 70s which introduced me to the brand. "Instruments for Professionals".

This is probably why I have problems coping with those who see Breitlings as something covered in diamonds worn by rappers.

It was around 1995 for me when Goldeneye came out and I saw Bonds Omega Seamaster. I almost immediately went to find an Omega AD to try one on, and as it happened, my nearest Omega AD was also a Breitling AD! In the window they had a really nice Chronomat........ and about a year later I was able to buy one.

However, the one I always wanted but never had the cash at the time, (and I've still never bought one to this day) was the TT Crosswind that came out in 1997. It was an absolute monster at the time - about 43mm - and just looked amazing. That was the first one that really blew me away. There has been plenty more since!

The first genuine Breitling I took notice of was the SOH46 with bracelet a few months back! Ended up with with a Black SA on Pro 2 and couldn't be happier even though they are totally different.

Yeah, that movie (and the watch) did it for me too, not that I could afford to do anything about it back then. I remember the SMP looked huge to me at the time.

I noticed Breitling by passing displays in shop windows and airports. The yellow colour and the pictures of planes always caught my eye, and the watches were mostly chunky and made of steel, which is what I like. The first model I saw that I wanted was (I think) a Chronomat.

First Breitling I saw that made me want a Breitling was a SA with a white dial, Arabic numbering, and it had over 6 carats of diamonds, at some random wedding, however when I went to try it on it was way too big for my wrist, so I went for the Chrono Evolution...and all those diamonds not for me...to each their own however!!! :o

I saw the Emergency and was drawn to it. Couldn't afford it at the time, but liked the look and thought the feature was awesome. Liked Breitlings ever since. Still looking to get my first one...but hopefully soon

The first Breitling I saw was a Black Navitimer on Black Croc whilst on Holiday in Spain. I thought I must have one, very classy and different from the usual Rolex or James Bond Omega. The Navi stands out in a special way and you don't see any round my way, although theres plenty of Rolex's most FakeI got my wish in March 08 when I got my Black Navi :D after much research on where to buy.

Then I found this site and now I'm addicted I need another Breitling ASAP......! You guys are fast talking me into an SA .....! Which I hadn't paid too much attention to until I came on here.

Didn't pick up one up(yet) but the first I saw that attracted me to the brand was an EVO. Now I'm stuck between the EVO and the Superocean Chrono. At some point I'm just going to have to get both of them. 8)

When I was in Vegas a few years back and tried on the GT. I haven't looked at watches the same since.
