It's real, which makes the price even more suspect in my mind. You have to wonder why someone would sell a watch for 1/3 of its value.........

resave it as a jpeg, and resize it to something a bit smaller in paint. You can post up to 150kb size files :)

Err... resize the photo to make it smaller, or put it up on a photo hosting site that'll cope with bigger photos and post a link.

Might be worth checking that the photo is a .jpg too as other formats might be too huge.

It has been agreed that the watch would be sent off for verification/clean. There was no hesitation by the seller to do this providing me with some confidence that there is nothing 'dodgy' - could I have hit lucky?

Yep, but I'm a firm believer in the 'if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is' adage. A stolen watch could still be verified, a watch that has intermittent problems with the movement (potentially expensive with quartz) could be verified, etc.

I'd argue somewhere between 1/2 and 1/3 for an M1 with no box or papers, but the same holds true.

That said, odd thought it might seem, I suspect there are lots of people out there that have no idea what there stuff is worth.

The condition is good but with no box/papers. Watch finder priced it at £800 - for them to buy, I used this as a guide to get an idea of the value. I have also verified it through 'watch searcher' and it came back clean, however I'm not so sure how accurate that service would be!

Well, as others have said, the watch in the picture is a real M1 alright. Personally for £500 I'd go for it. The odds of you finding another Breitling for that kind of coin is pretty slim.

I'd go for it after checking with Breitling + police as to whether it was on their reported stolen registry, and also expecting to pay for a complete overhaul in the near future.

check the regatta option if it works properly, the 2 chrono hand should stay exactly at 50 min mark and the other at 60 when reseted, see if all resets ok, and check if the pushers all work, my M1 the reset function stopped working for no reason then after letting the chrono work for 24h it started to reset again

you got there a fantastic bargain go for it

When you mention an overhaul - what does that invoke with regards to work and cost?
