Hi All,

I'm looking at buying a breitling superocean gmt duty free , however they have had it there for some time now and the watch is not currently "working".

How much would an AD charge to get it going? its has a self-winding mechanical movement, im not sure why exactly it is not working.

Thanks,

Kris

Are you sure it just wasn't wound? I find it hard to believe an AD would be selling you a new but broken watch?

And servicing questions are rather difficult to answer when you haven't told us where you are.

As natesen suggests, I suspect that it simply needs winding.

Hi,thanks for the responses.

i mean that the duty free shop where i am going to buy the watch is not an AD. just a standard duty free place.

i am in the USA.

i want to buy it and then take it to an AD in the USA.

how much would an AD in the USA charge to do the winding? could it be anything else?

Thanks,

Kris

So it's either grey market or used - warning signs already.

You really don't need an AD to wind a watch for you - just, well, turn the crown a few times and wind it!

I'll glad wind the watch for you for a fee :) but yeah, just turn the crown on the right side and it should work. If it doesn't, don't buy it and who knows what might be wrong with it......

Because the pricelist hasn't yet been updated for the year that it was introduced.

Right, which means that it won't show up in the pricelist until 2012 which has not yet been updated.

Kearkg

Sometimes a good deal is not a good deal. A malfunctioning watch that is otherwise new might be an issue. See my rant my Cosmo is a lemon.... While it did function at purchase from a non AD things went down hill fast.... Good luck
