Must be blocked by your network/vpn, works fine for me. Try from home.

Actually I have joined Rolex forum and came across many problems of them too, and to my disappointment, many also complained their level of service. I do hope you guys are right because I am getting my smurf soon and will not want to send every watch that I have to the service centre soon after getting them. As I have said, so far I find it rather easy to pick on a mechanical watch.

so youre going to be buying the white gold blue dial sub? to be honest i am a little surprised as you mentioned in previous posts how your buddy bought a yellow gold rolex and it was a "show off" piece.

just curious spending 35k on a white gold sub i guess is considered subtle?

You cant compare an in-house movement to an ETA. Sure, in real life, a Rolex vs. an ETA doesnt mean much. Both are exceedingly reliable and about as accurate as you should ever expect a mechanical watch to be. But when you want something a little bit more special, a little bit rarer, maybe more technically advanced (which seems especially ironic considering we're talking about mechanical watches), you go in-house. And as far as in-house movements go, Rolex is the undisputed kind of the basic movement.

Negative... I am getting the new GMT II... I guess it's not a show off piece... but it's a worth to have piece since it's a new break through to have the first watch with dual colors on ceramic bezel. Oh that's not considered smurf? I should have said bruised GMT... It's the most good looking Rolex I have ever seen so far...and erm....much better than the Sub IMO.... RELAX RELAX!!!!! IMO IMO....I was saying IN MY OPINION only.... :D

yes definitely no smurf. The smurf is the White gold Subc blue dial.

nothing wrong with saying this piece is nicer than a sub. its a good looking piece. post some pics when you get it

Rolex have set the standards that others follow. They are innovators as far as 'tool' watches are concerned, introducing the Submariner when SCUBA became popular, the Explorer for the successful 1953 British Everest expedition, the GMT for Pan Am flight crew, the Milgauss, the SeaDweller in collaboration with COMEX. Whilst divers watches are tested in pressure chambers, only Rolex has sent a watch, strapped to the outside of a vessel to the depths of the marianna trench, twice and bought them back working. I know they were only prototypes, but they had standard movements in them, Rolex took a great risk that they would survive.

I have worn a Rolex for over 30 years, before the bling generation got hold of them, my only gripe apart from the current cost, is that the Oyster bracelet could be better. I consider the professional bracelet on my Colt is better.

As far as I am concerned Rolex are at the top of their game. Ask your self this why do so many companies copy the Submariner, most of their changes over the years have been quite subtle.

My first watch was a Rolex submariner which I sold cos I eventually lost feelings for it.
After that I wore an omega aqua terra Chrono which I got rid off eventually.
Right now I am wearing the super avenger which I love it more than the first 2 watches.

I spent a lot of time researching which brand and model to buy and did my homework by visiting various AD to get a quote before buying.

I bought this super avenger to commemorate my new job.

I still remember the times when I was fascinated by watches and was watch hunting and nearly bought a tag heuer Aquaracer Chrono but luckily I didn't

Hard to find a Ling fan who shares the same sentiments in SG since majority are Rolex fans here. For me I seem to love my Chronomat 01 LE more and more too as time goes by, despite many comments out there that mentioned about the design being "dated" and would get tiresome of the styling quickly. Breitling watches do project a charisma that you don't find in other watches.

Well I was planning to jump on the new blue black GMT a while back, which I have yet to pull the trigger. I thought that it should be a safe choice given it's heritage and safe design, which has been declared a timeless watch by most. However recently I started to hesitiate as I seem to get this feeling that I am starting to get tired of it, even before I own it! Especially whenever I hold my Chronomat in my hand to admire it, I know I will not love the batman as much as my Chronomat even if I were to get it. But I cannot think of another watch that I would love more anyway because the Chronomat 01 LE was my dream watch in every aspect, which I feel that I am lucky to have own it. I do hope to add more pieces into my collection though so I started hunting for other options to see if I would change my mind to go for batman. Unfortunately I kept finding myself at the Breitling counter everytime I visit an AD, although I hope to get watches of different brands and styles. Navitimer seems to be reaching out for my wallet lately and I am trying my best not to go for another Ling. I don't think I will regret getting the Batman eventually but like you, I don't think I will love it as much as my Ling. Will see how it goes...
