So this gem just came in our shop today with an estate. which we now own, but wanted to get some background on the watch. Ive had vintage breitlings come in before, but never in working order,to my surprise this has been working and has kept up time the past 24 hours..... altho as you can see, appears like it somehow lost its inner bezel at some point over the year. The watch cosmetically looks great, it actually looks worse in the picture, but just alot of dust on the inside of crystal which can be cleaned up........ any info would be greatly appreciated on this piece.....much thanks!

It's actually a Chronomat 808, 217012 is the patent number for the sliderule.

Should be a Venus 175 movement, serial number will be inside the caseback, should be late 60s.

Not without seeing the movement - could be anything in there. Missing sliderule is also going to impact value.

Yep, good pick up Vintage. Couple of things on this one too, which are interesting;

As the scale is an inverted read off (as they were on all early Chronomats) you could probably fit this without worrying too much about accuracy and alignment. Any inaccuracy would mean the calculation results will be out (as they would be in any other case), but as it’s not going to necessarily be the reason on this one for buying a new scale. Getting back to a refurbished look would be the objective, so it would not notice or matter as much.

If however, it had been a Navi, then I would stop right here and only buy if I could obtain the complete face with D scale and the rotating C scale to match.

Just lucky in a way that its a Chronomat.
