See now I think that the black Navi is the iconic Breitling, but it's far too classy to "shout", it's the subtle statement of a bespoke suit in a nice blue bird's eye - classic without being one of the crowd.

Shouting has to be more of a Super Avenger, yellow Seawolf type thing with perhaps a more colourful Evo as the slightly raised voice

would agree that the SA is a shouter

True, my super avengers shout pretty loud

I'd say this shouts... in a drunken, friday night on the town, just got thrown out of a strip joint kind of way.

That raises the question what do you personally like the volume at. (1-10)

I figure my 6.75 is about an 7, and am ok with that. A diamond bezel would put it to 10, and that would be too much. I think the larger the wrist you have takes away one or two notches on the scale.

PS: Watching Bellator MMA last night on Spike and one of the guys working the corner had this huge God-awful green dial polished watch that was probably a 10. I have absolutely no idea what it was other than being large, having a green dial, and a single silver sub down around the 7 o'clock position. I assume it must have been an Invicta or something similar. If anyone reading this watch the fights, and didn't turn the channel between rounds, I know you seen it! :)

I think volume depends on scenario - I want to be quieter in a business environment than in a casual environment - my Friday and weekend watches are frequently 'louder' than other days in one respect or another.

Now you got me all self conscious (not really) I agree with the shouting of the SA in an overcompensating way, but I feel my yellow Seawolf is more tool/work horse/casual weekend kind of thing. Please don't lump me in with the SA crowd :P

I agree there. My Seawolf is silver, but I can still make a mental comparison compared to the SA I had, and don't see them being close at all. The SW being brushed and quite a bit smaller makes a big difference.

It would appear to me that the thread got slightly off track :-)
The OP asked "What's the Breitling that most shouts Breitling to you?", in other words which one do you find most "Breitling style" rather than "which Breitling do you find the loudest?"

I stand by my earlier statement - black dial Navi is the iconic Breitling. However, I do see a distinction between that and the more 'blingy' Breitlings that are much more 'in your face' about being Breitlings. To the uninitiated man in the street who isn't familiar with the brand in depth I think that an SA stands out much more as a Breitling than a Navi.

I see that as relevant to the topic.

I was making a subtle reference to that red thing a few posts earlier that perhaps screams like as if it was skinned alive but it sure as hell is not screaming "Breitling" to me at least :-)

That's exactly what I've been thinking. If I were to see one picture included in the "Breitling" entry in a dictionary or encyclopedia, it would be the watch mentioned in the original post -- the Navitimer with white subs and black face, on black calf. And that's what I thought the original post was essentially asking.

Nothing super original for me:
1. Black dialed Navi on bracelet.
2. Rider tabs on Chronomat etc.
3. Emergency given the transmitter cap.

Hey some of us can pull off the SA and some can't. The funny thing is mine never gets noticed. Rider tabs, ProII, waffle pushers, yeah it screams Breitling!

Breitling's styling is pretty much different from other brands so most of their models will tell you that's Breitling from far....From Navitimer, Chronomat Evo, SO, to the present B01s...Every model will have distinct features that tell u it's Breitling straight away. The only difference is whether you like the "distinct features" or not. Therefore when it comes to the question of "The Breitling that most shouts Breitling", it has to go to models that are more big, obvious, bold or blingy of course...a couple of them like SA, Chronomat GMT, SO..etc Not because they are the most classic Breitling, but because they capture attention more easily in the first place that will make you look at the watch on the wrist and identify that it's Breitling.

Navitimer with the Chronomat very close behind.
