thought it was 3000 pieces?

I doubt that.

The Blacksteel AS was readily available at ADs for at least 6 months after the first one was delivered to stores and there were only 2,000 of those, not 3,000.

I got mine in April less than an hour after I asked about availability.

It's definitely not a bad idea to reserve one with a deposit if you want one, but I don't think they are going to be unavailable other than by pre-order.

Just curious, did you get a good deal on yours? I mean do you think it would be better to play the waiting game and stay out of the early on feeding frenzies?

I paid CAD 4,100 including all taxes - CAD 3,628 before taxes. Not quite as good as my usual discount, but pretty good. List was $4,700 plus taxes at the time.

I have a good relationship with my AD, I've got better deals, but that ws pretty good. The watch is usually reserved for a Friday / weekend watch, but definitely gets its share of wrist time.
