Three easy questions. I hope the answers are easy.

1. All all gold rider tabs solid gold?
2. My chronomat model number ends in X. What does the X stand for? K13047X
3. The chronomat has an all gold sun ray dial that I've never seen anywhere except on this watch. Any ideas about the rarity?

This is my first Breitling so I bow to those of you with much more experience.

Thank you

1) Yes
2) This model had an X appended to it, not absolutely clear why but suspect that it may be because of the different dial.
3) More rare because of gold than because of the sunburst dial, but that doesn't mean valuable - it's still a 20 year old watch in a market where gold watches aren't selling.

Thanks very much. I really appreciate your responses. I'm not concerned about the value of the watch as much as just being aware of the history. I bought it for myself recently as my retirement watch and I just love it. Unfortunately it needed a full refurbish from Breitling but it will be wonderful when it gets home.

I did see one with a black sun ray dial last night. Still no gold one.

I have some good current photos. Do I just post them in the gallery or where?

You can post them here and when it comes back from overhaul, post new photos in the Gallery section.

I'll try attaching the photos from before the Chronomat was sent to Breitling for a full maintenance.

Thanks for the well wishes and compliment on the watch. Retirement is still a year away but the watch showed up now and I loved it. I'm chief psychologist in a state prison so it's not a wear to work watch. I've never seen the gold sun ray dial before. Have you?

I'm not sure if I should thank you or send my regards.

Nice watch! Some info for you.

The gold "sun ray" dial is featured in the 1991 catalogue.

Original cost with crocodile strap/gold buckle was £6,035.

Your dial has slightly different markings (Swiss Made outside the sub-dial) so will probably be from 1992/93 and this could explain the X suffix in the model ref.

There is also a gray dial in '93 catalog.

Hey Sharkmouth!

Thank you for the valuable information and great photos from the catalog. I'm not sure if I like the light colored croc or the black band better. Being a Pittsburgh sports fan, I'd probably go with the black band on the gold watch.
