Archie is hilarious is i think!! I don't take his comments to heart, because everybody has the right to an opinion. I love breitling watches, and believe the brand to be a luxury brand. How can you not say its a luxury brand? Just walk into a breitling dealer and start asking how much, and your opinion might be swayed. You can go buy a ten dollar watch that will keep perfect time, but we buy these luxury watches for the way they look, and make us feel when we wear them. I love my navitimer, and do not care that it has an eta movement. It's my first breitling and will not be my last. So wear whatever makes you feel good, and who cares about the watch snobs.

I find him entertaining and watched a thew of his videos his personer is definitly exaggerated and put on to get views and subs ect has I said in one of his videos he tried to take the personer of a serial killer he often talks about how much he makes on youtube ect so it's definitely an act but his views may be his own but he is very hypocritical as he has had many watches that he things are "dogs" ie superocean and Seamaster. He also has made recent videos that he is now too good for his omega speedmaster and rolex explorer he is a bit up himself considering his latest patek is on finance. The fact that breitling use an eta movement should be the least of his worrys as he has owned a audemars piguet with a quartz movement. That's buying the cheapest ap just to say you have an ap. also he has owned a Cartier panther which is trumped by most breitlings. Las thing in his early vids he declared his love for a navitimer he used to own.

Yup. I'm amazed anything this douche says has warranted 3 pages of discussion. No one, anywhere, except the trivially naive put any stock in him or his comments, which makes this thread an oddity of the first order.

But the thing is - this site is a discussion forum for Breitling; so if someone, no matter who, broadcasts on the Internet an opinion about Breitling then it is bound to provoke a reaction from us, the forum users - which is a mix of Breitling experts, collectors or aspiring owners; but all in all a group of people who are fans of Breitling. Now the thing is, I am all for people having opinions; if he had described why Patek Phillipe are 'better' than Breitling, using reasoned arguments, then that is OK; afterall we all have our own opinions.

The problem is that his main criticism of Breitling is that they don't use in-house movements (or did, anyway). This is simply stupid because a lot of luxury brands do this; for example the Bentley Continental GT uses what is basically a VW engine. Are we saying this is not a luxury car? He shows us his Mercedes Benz car; I could say a car that costs around ten times less than a Rolls Royce and uses lots of fake wood and plastic in the interior is not a luxury car.

His opinions are therefore simply stupid and incorrect, and to broadcast this on a Youtube video is a bit daft really.

To the above post I do thing it's allot better if a company makes their own movement but I wouldn't dismiss a watch because it has an eta movement as allot of other things make up luxury watches like the heritage of the company

Any watch over a couple hundred dollars is a luxury.

The operative word is in your first sentence. The person opining must first constitute a "someone."

I was hoping for a good and informative video and was shocked when the foul language and often repeating sentences occurred!

OMG

Well, he's entitled to his own opinion, but why is he trying to convince everyone to feel and think as he does??

Its noisy !
Heaven forbid !
Personally I like a little "life" from my watches.
I like to feel and hear the rotor moving.
I have quartz daily wear beaters that are completely silent.
Bo-ring.

He needs to get one of those Uber-Luxury (and silent) Timex jobs.

I enjoyed his delivery and his use of "colorful" language. Oh, by the way, here is another video in which he actually classifies Breitling as a luxury watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAVw4E4OhXE

So, which is it?

Nothing wrong with a bit of foul language, it shows passion. Still in in no way defending this idiot. Love that my navi movement is a bit rough and loud, part of its charm. I would rather people like that not even take one of the 100,000+ examples that breitling makes every year, leave it for someone who will appreciate it. Enjoy your 18 year old E class...
