Hey Guys,

I just noticed the chronographs on my navi 01 LE have stopped working. The 30 second hand and the 12 hour hands are stuck in the 12 o'clock position. Ive tried stopping and restarting the Chronograph several times and they remain stuck in that position. Anyone had this problem before or know of a solution?

I'd hate to have to send it in, but I'm glad I have about 5 months left of warranty on it just in case.

Thanks,

You are best sending it in.
With just 5 months left you have had a result in a way. Like brand new watch returned after repair.

It would essentially just be a full service cost. A bit more than $700 with the hands as well because servicing charges are higher on the in house movement.

I've had plenty of chronograph issues with the B01 movement, but this is not one of them. I'd send it in.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the input. Well I woke up this morning and it was working, but then I recycled the chronographs and it stopped, then started working again, and now its stuck again. The watch still holds good time, but it looks like threre's a mechanism sticking which controls the chronographs.

Guess I'll be sending it in. :(

Having also had issues with the B01 movement I have to say reading ongoing issues from other people is really putting me off buying another model with the in house movement, granted current models have a 5yr warranty (and I start to question why the increase to 5yrs) but what about after the 5 years? So far I've had no major problems on any of my other watches, never had a failure of a movement in any of them and they are all tried and tested ETA/Valjoux movements, and of course not forgetting the extra cost of servicing.

I also just checked the time, and it was 20 minutes behind the actual time, so it "froze up" for whatever reason for about 20 minutes. This is the second or third time this problem has happened.

VERY disappointed in this watch. Does anyone happen to know if I have to pay for shipping when taking it to an A.D. to send for servicing? The watch had a basic servicing 11/13, so I hope since it was recently serviced it will be expedited and not take the whole 6-8 weeks that Breitling usually takes.

Anyone else have issues with their 01? Did it function properly after servicing? How long did it take? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Warranty issues get priority over regular servicing, but at this time of year it's still going to be several weeks. With the issues that you have had I would be pushing the AD not to make you pay for shipping.

So far no issues with my Chronomat 01 LE. Only issue is that if I stop using the watch for about more than 12 hours the time will start slowing by about 10 sec per day. I think it's because I normally do not perform a full wind, only about 20 rounds to prevent overwinding, and to what I understand the watch will start to lose time as it starts to unwind towards the end. So if I do not perform sufficient winds and do not use the watch(no automatic winding) for sometime, it unwinds much faster which results the losing of time. However I don't really think it's a technical issue because the movement has been behaving very consistently as what I mentioned.

there is absolutely ZERO risk of "overwinding" a Cal. B01. urban myth.

:yeahthat

And the logic that it is losing time because it has a low power reserve is also flawed. A watch with a low power reserve will have a low amplitude (balance spring doesn't move as far) which will result in an increased frequency and the watch gaining time not losing it. If it's losing time then something else is causing it.

Roffesian: So what do u think is the cause behind the losing time? I have seen a few reviews mentioning that their B01 is losing 10 sec per day too. So far has never experienced time gain. However I have only experienced the losing time when I leave the watch untouched for more than 12 hrs, or rather a day. It's consistent at 10 sec per day. However I have wound the watch for about 30 rounds before and used the watch every day, except when I am sleeping(about 8 to 9 hrs), and it was amazingly accurate.

It could be any one of a million things - I would get it run through a timing machine to get it tested in different positions and if necessary regulated.
