I think you need something more concrete in design terms and pricing terms...I'm a little hesitant to commit to something that could potentially be a design I dislike or a price a bit above what I want to spend right now. Also, I think this will probably take off more after the holiday season given how much money people spend this time of year, myself included.

No-one's being asked to commit to anything at the moment : this is just an interest thread, and while I'm thankful that people are being honest and mature, and not saying they may be interested if they already know they wouldn't be, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least a little disappointed with the interest levels. We've done a couple of these projects in the past and interest in them was a lot higher, even though the membership-base was considerably smaller at the time. However, the "dynamic" of the forum was different in those days - maybe more of a community-spirit than it is now - so maybe that has something to do with it. (Plus the slightly higher cost of this one.... but then we will get considerably more customisation).

Either way, if Crepas give us the go-ahead on the basis of the information I've given then, I'm sure we will pick up people as we go along if people like what they're seeing.

I didn't mean to imply you meant a full committal, but more that many members here are straight shooting so they do not want to give any sort of false impression. Their watches look really nice, but it seems that there is a lot more potential for the final design (and price) to vary. While that is neat on the customization side, it creates some uncertainty as well. I really hope this goes through as it sounds like an awesome thing and (funds and design willing) I hope to buy one thanks to your hard effort.

I am in. A 44mm vintage diver chrono sounds perfect. How do we "get on the list" to ensure we are one of the 100.

You just did it
At this stage it is just expression of interest to see if there is enough interest.
It does not look like it will be a problem to be one of the 100 based on the responses so far at least.

:yeahthat Once (if) this gets underway we'll start looking at reserving numbers and such-like, but at the moment your interest is all we need.

OK guys, unfortunately this project is not going to get off the ground. :(

There's just not enough interest to make it worthwhile (probably on both sides) so I'm going to wrap this one up. Bit of a shame, but best to know now rather than half way through the design process.

Thanks a lot to those who expressed an interest and sorry it didn't get going.

Thanks for trying. If the process is anything like group buys, then you've had to do a hell of a lot of work. :( Since this didn't take off, do you think you will look at other possible BS runs of other accessories or something?

Thanks for the effort. Rather disappointing response forum wide.

Thanks for all the work Driver8, surprising and disappointing way that this played out but better now than later.

It's a shame that this did not work out.
 and  to D8 for trying.

That's a shame as it sounded unique and interesting. Thanks for taking the time D8!

It is real shame we didn't make it and many thanks for your efforts. For me it was an opportunity to learn about a company like CREPAS at least. I have reserved my Cayman 3000.

On a good note for the company, their interests in working with us has made me decide to purchase one of their watches and I will be sure to advise to others as well. Perhaps when a few more make it to the market it will spark more interest down the road?

That's a shame.

Thanks for all your efforts Mr Driver.

As it was I was a little worried that most members who replied positively wanted a chronograph, because I didn't.

Like others, it has opened my eyes to Crepas and I will keep a look out for them in the future.

Thanks again for trying.

Thanks for the effort D8. I wonder what the deciding factor was for most folks. I was a little hung on the price, but not that badly. I wonder if it was the retro styling, company, model...... Just curious.

Maybe at this time the BrietlingSource watch projects will be limited to those sub $1k watches. I still like my Steinhart LE from round one but I don't wear it very often. To me that was a great LE run because of the custom options they allowed and for the relatively inexpensive price tag.
