Can anyone advise if a Pro 2 bracelet about a year old should have any sag when holding the watch body and bracelet to sit out horizontally to one side.
Even brand new I would say they would have some sag? Yes?

Any one able to post up a pic of a newish pro 2 bracelet and the sag level?

I think I understand what you are asking, and yes, it's a bracelet so there is play inbetween the links which will result in sag if the links aren't supported.

Bought 4 Feb 2010. No more sag than new. Clean with Veraet and no sag will happen.

I am looking at buying a 2011 ( allegedly ) Colt 11 here in Melbourne ( without box and papers ) for which the dealer is after $ 2100 AUS. I feel that is a bit steep.

Historically there is one listed on their site amongst sold items with Box and papers that sold for $ 1900. Apparently that was a couple of years ago though.

Not sure who you're looking at buying that through, but it does sound on the high side for a colt, especially if it is not 'complete'.

Hi, Roff. I wonder if he is talking about "bias" of the bracelet when adjusting the length properly?... If so, the AD's sales handbook provides instructions for "biasing" the bracelet (longer on the "north" ) when removing or adding links but unknown to many owners is the fact that even a standard full length (as purchased new) bracelet requires "biasing" for ergonomic comfort on the wrist. The original factory length for typical 22mm Breitling bracelets ("Pilot", "Fighter") is comprised of ten full size links and the four end links. Of the ten full size links, either three or four of them (depending on year made, four after 2003 usually) are removable. Changing the original configuration from 5N/5S to 6N/4S is the proper bias adjustment for the full size bracelet as you know. Maybe this is the information the OP was seeking?...

Okay. Maybe I exaggerated a little. But, keeping the bracelet links clean will prevent link and pin wear which is the main cause of sag.

Better make sure all the seals are good before cleaning like that, not a great idea on navitimers etc... sure to invalidate any warranty.

Yes. It is more noticeable with the Pro 2 because the Pro 2 does not use solid or soldered links. Each piece of metal you see on the Pro 2 is individual and held to the others with a pin. This means the bracelet will have more lateral play and is also why the Pro 2 and Pilot are among the most comfortable on the market given this conforms far better than a solid or partially solid link bracelet does. It is also why it dries on your wrist so quickly once it gets wet. For the Pro 2, you are talking about as much as 50 pieces of metal all linked with pins...while only some are removable, all are free floating as individual pieces linked together.

Hopefully that makes sense but if not, the image below shows what appears to be a single link. On most watches, this is a solid piece. On the Pro 2, it is actually 3 separate pieces.

The bias was not the basis of my query , thanks but bias I understand is important for comfort.

It applies to all models from around 2000 onwards (different models introduced it at different times).

So when the dealer states that he believes that the watch is less than one year old or that he has been told that the watch is approx one year old , he could actually confirm it's build date.
Why then , would he not just take off the bracelet , look at the bottom of the case and advise the exact build date?

That's a question that you will have to ask him!
