Has anyone asked Breitling to re-engrave the serial number on their watch that's in for servicing? If they make everything else on the watch like new, why not restore the worn s/n?

I don't think yet do, no. They are printed on the inside of the case for their own reference though iirc.

They will not. Serial is not on the inside of the case, it's on the movement.

They only seem to do this if the client actually requests it and they seem to replace rather than reingrave that back. With that said, I called Breitling USA that verified it isn't an issue given the SN is not only there, so they will still work on a legit model with the outer SN polished off. Mine is pretty hard to read as its already been polished by Breitling once, so I was worried about it and called B USA because of it. So as far as I can tell, the only reason to have them do this (which will obviously take quite a lot of time and possibly money) is if you resell the watch, as a lighter SN may scare off some buyers.
