Reflecting a bit more on Fred's (Helderberg's) words, I realize I could take a cue from what he said, although not so much about Breitling as BreitlingSource. Posting here should be fun. Unfortunately, due to a combination of life circumstances, as well as personal differences with members like Sergio, and Roff's moderating style, I don't find this place to be that much fun anymore. So, rather than fight it, I think it's better to take a break. Assuming Roff doesn't ban me for saying this (he did issue me an official warning - I have to wonder if he issued one to Sergio, as well), I may be back, or I may not. I'll make that decision when the time comes. If I do get banned, then I appreciate the good times I've had here, and the members who have added to the experience.

I will say one more thing: Roff, you may be the dominant moderator, and have more than 25,000 posts, but you're certainly not beyond reproach. Ironically, it wasn't all that long back that Sergio excoriated you for having no personality and being generally rude and a stick in the mud. I agreed with him then, and I do even more now. You could really stand to lighten up a bit. If you did, authority haters like myself might actually want to honor your requests, rather than resent your demands.

Always enjoy your posts Frank. Congrats on the new B01, I've seen your photos on the other board and think it looks great. I couldn't agree more with your comments. The excessive negativity here has become unbearable. A lot of the criticism has been warranted but enough is enough.

Enjoy your new B01.

Thanks and I do appreciate your post. Also, thanks for the thumbs up on the new B01. I do love this thing as it is
just what I like in a watch.
Be safe all, Frank.

Any pics, Frank? Or am I just late to the party?

We surely do have a tendency to rehash our frustration and sometimes it does get a little old. Surely I have been as responsible as anyone else. And I do very much respect Frank's knowledge and civility and especially his amazing photography, but after all this is an entire forum devoted to a single brand, not a mega-forum with a Breitling sub-forum. I like that we can speak our mind on the brand without risk of retribution, which surely is not always the case on the two behemoth sites.

Seems to me there is a simple reason the same thing keeps coming up - every year Breitling keeps letting us down by doing more of the same thing. I suspect that most, if not all, of the more vocal critics still hold onto a flimsy reed of optimism and then Breitling snatches it away. In other words, despite our stated pessimism we still have that tiny gnawing mental voice saying "wait 'til next year." I guess that makes us the Horological equivalent of a Dodgers fan.

Personally I am glad this isn't a fan boy site. So much for my free watch. :(

PS - But I do like the Chronomat 41! :) Heck I'd wear it every day if one showed up unexpectedly at my door. Breitling? Are you out there?

My AD said he can have the LE for me in two weeks. But the price is toooooo steep. It looks like the bezel is a bit more narrow than the 44 which makes the font look more tolerable. I'm tempted but that damn price tag. Ouch!

The over/under on your comment was 10 minutes. :)

But it was the Dodgers who invented that... Ok, that was Brooklyn, I'll grant you that.

Tom - I just noticed this 41 on Breitling's website, I had never seen this dial combo before. I really really like it, I've always liked romans but the romans on the standard B01 seem all scrunched today, this one resembles the old Chrono Cockpit but in a better size. Very tempting to make a call on Monday.

Like I said, I do like the watch a lot. It is nicer in person than in pics or renderings IMO. But the price tag - jeepers.

Me too - as soon as the weekday feature will appear on the B01 Chronomat 41... it was soooo simple on the ETA 7750 to show the weekday, why is it missing from the B01? BTW silicone escapement parts were also good to have in da house - antimagnetism and smearing.... like a bunch of low-budged, mid-up and high-end brands, like PP, Rolex, Omega, but Damasko as well... seems the way to go.

How much is it and how much is it over the standard 41mm?
