A friend on facebook just posted this about his latest acquisition. I'm totally stumped. Does anyone know what kind of watch this is?

It's a manual wind.

Maybe a Benzinger? But with due respect the skeleton doesn't look busy enough.

No worries.

Not to sounds like an A-Hole, but I honestly do not think this is anything that most of us would consider a high end watch. I am just curious as to what I might be.

Most of the time when I think skeleton I think of Benzinger's pieces. Now that I think about it I think his pieces are signed on the crystal and his skeleton work is more ornate. I believe Sturhling makes some pieces like that.

IDK, it looks a bit too ornate for a Sturhling Unoriginal, a company that merits mentioning with the likes of Invicta. Maybe that gives SO too much credit. They do often put blue hands on skeletons. Sturhling typically uses simple Geneve striping. (Swatch is suing them by the way.)

My bet - guess really - is some generic Chinese stuff. The engraving is quite poor and the crown utilitarian. (if this turns out to be some impressive piece, my apologies to your friend)

Edit - when I uploaded the image to Google image finder, all the hits were pictures of tattoos.

It's a cheap German skeleton watch, can get em on the bay for around $100-$200 bucks.

Good call - Cheap Chinese watch re-branded as a German watch.

Tom and Sergio, Confirming my exact suspicions.

This is why I didn't want to ask publicly on FB.

Serge......nice find.
