Now this I like, 1/8 kilo of gold

It's not an in house movement, but you are obviously buying this for the overall look. LE of 100 and price is a pretty reasonable (considering the gold) 34,200 Euros - and that includes tax, so less for North American buyers. There are also a bunch of other versions from about 11,500 to 15,500 Euros taxes in.

In reality I would probably buy this version as a little more practical and 12,700 Euros:

With all that gold that watch could actually appreciate over time

All in all not a bad looking watch.

I'm no fan of gold watches, but with that design I could probably live with it!

I'm very much on the fence with Linde Werdelin - I can't decide if I really like them or not. :?

Very nice. I was on the fence about LW myself until I received mine. The quality is on par with all the other high end watches I have owned.

At the list price im a nay sayer too. Even with 40 points off for the gold version I would still say no. The SS ones are blah in my book

Given the wink smiley, I'm guessing you're not serious. Still, it's an interesting thought, so let's run with it. Current price of gold per gram is €39.92. A kilo of gold is €39,920, and 1/8 of that is approximately €4,990. So, the current value of gold in that watch is €4,990, and the watch itself is selling for €34,200, which includes taxes. Even if you factor out the taxes, gold would have to do a whole LOT of appreciating for that watch to ever go up in value, based solely on the gold content.

As for the watch itself, meh...I must not be a true WIS, because most ultra high-end watches leave me cold, and this one is no exception. I can respect its craft and uniqueness, but I actually find a Rolex Sub to be more lust-worthy, despite its relatively plebeian stature.

Can you get solid gold diving and skiing modules for this?

That would be cool!

Just the regular modules, but they do still fit.

Yes I wasn't serious Jackson but the math was interesting all the same.

I like the look of the Oktopus 2 Titanium Yellow. Not only is it bright yellow (my favourite!), it has other units that bolt onto it. It's like a transformer or something... When will I ever stop being a kid?
