Still quite new to the vintage thing but stumbled upon what seller claims is a NOS 1974 Navitimer in 18K gold. It sure is pretty, and if I was going to buy a Navitime this one does it all for me. Cool vintage look, but still timeless, original box papers, etc. Seems like a time capsule was just opened. Sadly not enough DI on my end, but like I said if I were going to have a Navitimer this would be the one. Just beautiful!

You all seem to get your panties in a wad when auction links are posted, so I'll refrain from that. I am sure anyone with a keyboard and mouse can find it, no detective work needed. Wondering how rare something like this is? Do things like this come up a few times a year or much more infrequently? Heck, Fred probably has 3 or 4 of these just laying around the chateau  I can't imagine a store sitting on one for 30+ years and it being found in a back room so must be from a private collection, no? Personally I can't imagine buying a watch and not using it, but it sure is cool to see a complete set of everything after so many years.

So who's got $9K to give me for an "old" watch? :D Speaking of $9K is that "reasonable", fantasy money or hard to determine a price since not many to compare?

Fred that seller does seem top notch. I keep an eye on him because he always seems to have old Glycine Airmen come and go along with a mix of vintage Breitlings. I dig those old 24 hour Airmen in all flavors. How recently did you see that one go for 8K? Seems hard for me to belive there are that many NOS watches just waiting to be discovered but obviously they are out there.

I'd have to see if I saved that, was quite some time ago, a recent piece from Florida did not sell afaik, similar range,
but by far not as well preserved.

Bill is a great seller, very reliable, perfect to deal with - and often has an impressive
selection of watches on offer.

How rare is a NOS 1974 Navitimer in 18K gold compared to say an early 806 in 18k gold? Personally for 9k, I would go for an earlier model Navitimer but that's just me.
