That is one handsome piece. Based on the watch itself, that could easily be on a short list of my faves. I suspect, though, the MSRP will make it far less desirable when compared to other options.

I'm also disappointed that in redesigning the Spitfire, IWC got rid of the silver dials. I thought those were a great look.

Edit: I just noticed the 3878 has a flyback function. My suspicions about MSRP just got stronger.

INCOMING!!!!!!!!!!!! After talking to George this morning and hearing that he cannot discount IWC, not even one penny, I took a shot and called an AD that I have dealt with previously and he just got this watch in. Long story short, it will be on my wrist tomorrow :D

That is one sweet looking chronograph. What's MSRP on it, if you don't mind my asking?

$10,700. Yes it is over priced but what can ya do? It's still $2,000 cheaper than a 5001.

Actually, that's not as bad as I thought, although my the price I was imagining was for one on a bracelet, which would add a bit to the price, I'm sure. Still, that IWC has a flyback function and is in-house, isn't it?

Congrats.

Thanks. Yea, Flyback and inhouse chrono. Not bad when you compare it to a 5001 but still pricey. We'll see tomorrow if it was worth the price but knowing how well IWC finishes their watches and how they fit on my wrist, I am fully expecting this one to be a knockout.

I guess a big congratulations is in perfect place.

If so... Mr. Grenhall would like to congratulate you on your purchase. Mr. Grenhall is impressed with the build quality of IWC-watches.

That's hilarious, reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where George starts speaking in the 3rd person. George is getting ANGRY!!

Thanks!

If he starts doing profanity laced youtube reviews of his luxury goods then we know that we have a ringer.

If 90% of his posts are a picture of an entry level patek that he may or may not have once owned, you might be on to something.
