Ok ... reading up on these a bit. Too much info and options..

Someone do me a favor and save me some time..

I want a winder that looks nice and will get the job done. I want a cost effective solution.. I don't want a expensive winder..

I have 1 breitling I want to keep wound. Plan on buying more of this type..

Looking at a wood one on ebay for like $150... see many people like the brookstone quad..for $200...

Does anyone have a cheap.. low cost winder they like that works for these?

Thanks

Looking at this one..

Ok, Scored a wolf Heritage 6 Piece Watch Winder...

Problem is I bought before getting educated..

The Heritage is only 600 turns per day... while the super avenger needs 800..

Will it work?

I suppose I can stick a timer on it... shut it off at 6 hours... then on .. run it for 3 hours more... shut off again for 15 hours.. then on and start over...

Will get 900 turns... easy fix, I guess ?

For what I am getting it for.. I'll cope.. This would be crazy if I paid alot for this... lol...

Get one of the wolf single watch modular units. They are in your price range and fully adjustable up to 1000TPD I think. And you can add more and hook them together. Most of the ones on the bay or places like Amazon that look like wood aren't really and are cheap POS things that often do not work right out of the box. Be wary of Garmin, Diplomate, Steinhausen, Heiden and some others. If they work at all they won't for long.

I'm not sure how that logic works - if it's only set up for 600 turns per day then it's only going to get 600 turns per day unless it does 600 when first powered up and then does nothing for 23 hours or whatever which would be a bizarre set up.

If the winder is only delivering a percentage of the turns that the watch needs then it will gradually wind down and eventually stop.

I started out with a cheapie pseudo-wood winder, which worked okay for a while, until the motor became too noisy and I picked up a watch that needed more TPD. I was just about ready to try the Brookstone, which I have heard some good things about (don't know maximum TPD) when Wolf had a sale, as they periodically do. I picked up the four-winder module unit. As Shark mentioned, you can get them one at a time and the extra cost isn't so bad. Super quiet, set for your watch requirements and you're done. The only issue I have with Wolf is that the cuffs can be a little stubborn to break-in, particularly with a larger watch. Keep the cover on the unit just in case. They also have a warranty ( I think two-year) and I have heard their service is pretty good.

I already purchased the wolf 2.0 Hertiage 6 motor unit. It is on it's way to me. I paid $400 delivered, which I thought was a fair price.

It only does 600 tpd... the SA needs 800... therefore I figured adding the timer.. I also figure that when these units are unplugged then powered back up, they will start the program all over again.

Wolf ads say "The module 2.0 rotates for 6 hours (150 turns per cycle, 4 cycles per day) and has an 18 hour “sleep phase”. Rotates in either clockwise counterclockwise or bi-directional."

As long as it re-starts the program , after de-powering it.. adding a timer, and powering it back up for 3 hours will get me 2 more cycles at 150 turns ) for a total of 900 tpd. Power back off for the the remainder of 15 hours... then start all over again...

Question is.. does it re-start the program after being un plugged ? Anyone know?
I can call Wolf monday.. or just wait for my delivery.

I will keep an eye out for a deal on the 2.7 6 winder... I'm sure I can off the 2.0 for what I paid..or more.

Thank for the responses.

This is the Wolf modular one, adjustable from 300 to 1200 TPD

This is the Viceroy series, I have the 8 watch version, also adjustable from 300 to 1200 TPD.

Both retail at $299. If you get them from an authorized dealer rather than directly from Wolf, you can get some amount of discount. You may have a watch store in town or nearby who is a Wolf AD.

I bought my 8 watch Viceroy series from worldlux and got a nice discount. Here is a one watch version of the Viceroy winder discounted to $239 -

Or break down and get this 3 watch Viceroy, which I also have, 30-1200TPD and some handy storage in the top, currently discounted to $749. (Worldlux is, or at least was, a Wolf AD. Order by phone because they will likely discount more. They are limited to what price they can put on the website) -

As far as I know, only the Heritage models suffer from limited TPD, which may be why they are always on sale at the Wolf website. I agree with Scott that the cuffs start out a bit stiff to compress, but quickly adapt to the size watch you are using. Especially if the watch is on a bracelet, you won’t have to fight it in the beginning.

Called and Confirmed with Wolf.

Their program will restart after disconnecting. So Adding a timer will get you as many TPD as you need... As I said, in a prior post...Just need to do a little minor math..

Sweet !
