Dave , have a look at this auction
http://www.ebay.nl/itm/Breitling-Naviti ... 3cc3a3637a
Dial is obviously a remake and the seller admits that , but :

"If you need the bezel we can make it to you for an extra cost."

Might be worth exploring ?

Opinions, please!!

This came available, but is in very poor shape. Basically needs a full treatment from ID. I just don't know if it's worth the trouble and the $225!?! Seems a bit excessive for being unusable as is. But then again ...

If you had my decision to make; what would you do? Bite the bullet or pass and hope a better original dial comes along?

Some of that looks non recoverable to me. I would take the opinion that I have only been looking for a few days and the experts told me that it might take months and wait for something better!

You guys read my mind. Think I just needed to hear it from someone else. I really feel bad because someone put in a lot of effort to get ahold of the source. And he did it just out of kindness. Hope he understands why I have to wait. At least he's not out any money, just time and effort. I know he earned some business from me restoring a couple other chronos, with that kind of service for someone he never met or did business with before.

Thanks for the input. The hunt continues.

Speaking of hunt ... does anyone know the dimensions of the dial and the inner bezel insert?

well, Dave, you wanted dial dimension, so I have attached a pic for you.

Sad story behind this was a very nice 769 with an aged, but quite acceptably faded dial I acquired and before shipping - so the sellers story - the saleslady in his shop "cleaned the dial a little". This is the end result and was the reason for my long hunt for the right replacement.

Let me repeat: patience ! In the end I found a non-runner V175 movement w/ correct hands and inner dial for €175, sold off the movement, so the dial came to quite an acceptable price, the $225 for that other dial is way too high.

Finding the dial ring will be extremely tough, you might have to go w/ a refinished one.

Thanks for the measurement pic, Fred! I think I'm going to have a spare ring made to use in the present. I had talked to someone about doing a dial and ring together, and still may, but oh how quickly things can change.

Does this original untouched dial look a little better? My watch guy here was holding out on me! I think he was pretty upset at himself for not knowing he had the case and bezel pieces and sold them to me so cheap before he realized what I was buying. He finally broke down today and pulled this out ...

My first thought was "you SOB", but only for a split second because I would have felt just like he did! He knew he would be better off trying to buy the case back from me, but when he figured out I wasn't going to stop until I had a complete watch, he knew I'd never sell it. He didn't have the bezel insert number ring on hand, but he thinks it might still be there in a couple boxes of stuff.

Unbelievable.

$550 for dial and complete working movement. And he'll throw in the bezel ring when and if he can find it.

I couldn't smile any wider right now if I tried.

Hi guys. Would I be correct in assuming that the hour and minute hands are not original? Can't say I've ever seen these. The other hands all look correct, but these are strange.

Thanks!
