Shark, I really do agree. Not sure it came across with the somewhat harsh entry to my previous post, but I do :)

Denial mode is a dangerous thing in a business which is as emotional as the watchmaking industry. If you gonna sell something people don't need, better make very sure they want it...

As to your conclusions,

1: as long as they make Navis we'll be moving towards the sky more often than the sky towards us ;)

2: you don't say?!? Was it all just a movie then? ;)

I'm cracking up at Sharkie's new English teacher/red pen method of responding to posts. The all-caps-in-red technique reminds me of that episode of Seinfeld where Elaine drew on Uncle Leo's eyebrows with a Magic Marker and everybody thought he was pissed, even though he wasn't.

That said, this is a very good discussion all the way around.

Dudes WTF? It is the most coherent way to respond, point by point. And it takes less time for the busy man about town on the go! As for all caps and bold, it is necessary for the Tapatalk users like me, sometimes, which does not pick up color text. Without it, it just looks like one jumbled post on Tapatalk.

Come on homies, get with the program or I will really start shouting. ;)

i just wish breitling had a positive evolution whitout distorcing the models over years

here is a very good evolution in example by omega:
the planet ocean chrono
the older quite good
Image
the newer, display back, omega movement, ceramic materials, refreshed new look whitout loosing identity beautifull imo
Image
Image

when is breitling going to launch something like this'????
instead breitling is turning the superocean line into this
Image

sorry about the omega pub but this is a good example of great evolution

I feel the same way about the Omega SMP. It's been around since the mid '90s. They've made numerous tweaks to it, but it's still recognizably the same watch, and has the same basic appeal. Even better, the newest incarnation, which just came out last year, is the best one yet. Rolex is another good example: the Sub just keeps getting better, as does the Explorer, the GMT Master, and the Yachmaster.

Breitling seems to understand its heritage in the Navitimer, and has kept that line sound. But they just seem confused when it comes to many of the other lines. As you say, the styles don't evolve positively over time - they change radically overnight, and usually not for the better.

That's my next piece. I don't care if it's as thick as a tuna can!

Thank God for that

not all is bad in breitling evolution, but its too litle for the mess they create on other models or even descontinued some good ones

here are good example in my opinion where breitling made positive evolution:

Basel 2012 Pics stolen hehe

Image
besides the bezel
Image
Image
the datora as well, small tweaks but kept imo the datora blood, love the raised B
Image

and these 2, not too bad, just because there is litle amount of red, the chronospace almost has nothing which i got suprised
Image
also nice, not too busy, not too much red, raised wings, overall not bad, will i buy?? probably not but nice one
Image

this was the acceptable from this year baseworld but so litle....what i liked the most was the ones breitling almost didnt touched

now... the bad... almost everything else but.... this one i cant forgive breitling...
already among us quite some time and they should hide it, not display it in Basel
Image

and now B for bentley looks like swatch, wich color do you want, orange blue???
Image
Image
i dont believe coloring bentley is the way

No, you're clearly better at that job than I, so I will leave it to the professional. Now let's stop before we both get a warning or in my case banned.
